Much as we despise this sort of regulatory practice ... since this is an "official" forum for the Marathon, it behooves us to at least state our policies regarding posting, disciplinary action, etc.
1. The Forum staff reserves the right to change anything, delete anything, move anything, edit anything, bring the site up, take the site down, or utilize a suitable application of high explosives at any time, and upon our merest whim. The Forum is heretofore to be considered "Under Construction" at all times.
2. The Forum staff reserves the right to delete posts, ban users or excommunicate whole congregations at our discretion for any rationale we believe will keep the community safe, sane, and civil. This includes, but is not limited to, foul or abusive language, personal attacks or insults, insane ramblings, inappropriate rants or raves, excessive trolling, flaming, rampant obnoxiousness, or lack of hygiene.
3. The Forum staff reserves the right to do any of the above modifications, bans, relocations, or grand sweeping changes with or without notice. General practice will be to warn for offensive behavior, optionally move offending threads to the "Kaboom!" forum, then ban, but the severity of the offense may dictate immediate action, on our sole judgement.
Having said all that, you can expect that we're really not at all interested in policing the boards with such ferocity that any of this should be an issue. In general, expect the same kind of moderation of the forums as you would expect of the marathon itself.
And above all, enjoy yourselves here ... let discussion reign ... let this gathering place of Marathoid ideals become your voice for change, opinion, and revolution! We're all good with that! Really!
