Donnie Darko is a great choice. I'm not so sure of its "sequel" S. Darko. To me S. Darko is a cash in attempt like the The Lost Boys: The Tribe.

Plus I don't want to see the 26th (or 2009 edition) of The Columbus Science Fiction Marathon to become an Trekfest. Star Trek II is fine with the Star Trek TOS episode Space Seed before the movie. I don't want to see two Star Trek movies, TAS episodes ect. Trailers montage fine. Trailer for Star Trek (2009) fine. There are more sci fi movies out there than Star Trek movies.

There are some Sci Fi movie fans that don't care for Star Trek. If you want an Trek Thon then have it on another weekend.

I do want to see some of the Bread Films returning to the Sci Fi Thon.

I can see that Joe Neff doesn't book a lot of Star Trek flicks, since there are people who can't stand the franchise.

I'd love to see Metropolis at a marathon, but not this year. Since the missing footage has been found and is being restored, I would prefer to wait for the new release.

The director of S. Darko, Chris Fisher, has made some of the worst straight-to-DVD movies I've ever seen. I'm talking bad even by straight-to-DVD standards here. Somehow this guy keeps getting work even though his films are quite awful. So I'm not holding out a lot of hope for S. Darko to be any good. Richard Kelly is not involved either.

What worse than Uwe Boll, Ed Wood, Micheal Bay (with the exception of Transformers)? I'll wait for S. Darko to show up in a Redbox rentel kiosh.

Note I watch Toyko Gore Police last weekend. It is gory even by Japan sci fi/horror movie standards.

Spoiler Alert:
There is a gimp in Toyko Gore Police that puts the gimp in Pulp Fiction to shame.

Istill want to see Zardoz, and Gamera the Brave as well.

What happen tn the ticket for this year's thon?

Message posted on a Nokia 5310 phone.

Well, it's hard to top those guys, but I'd put him in fourth place.

Here's a list of movies I rather see at the 26th Columbus Ohio Sci Fi Thon than S. Darko.

Plan 9 From Outer Space
Pilot episode of Logan's Run TV series
The Go Bots Movie
Any one of the crappy Care Bears movies from the 1980's
Laserblast
Monster A Go Go
That Godzilla movie that heavly featurs Milla
Space Thing (Yes I did rent it from Video Central)
Cafe Flesh
Spaceboy on an endless loop
Spacecamp That movie didn't age well
I can go on. Please no S. Darko.

I didn't want to come of as angry. I like the series, but I don't want to see the Columbus Ohio Sci Fi Thon turn into a Trek a thon.

Lets just say I have some issues with The Next Generation.

I am so psyched to get a chance to see TimeCrimes on a real screen with this crowd. It was the 3'rd thing on my list back in December.

I pulled up the plot keywords for Tokyo Gore Police on IMDB but did not post them for fear of spoilers but WOW.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1183732/keywords

I sounds like this will blow Battle Royale(my first request) out of the water.

I want to see It Came from Outer Space 3D at the thon as well.

Here is some other picks.

Rollerball (NOT THE REMAKE)
Soylent Green
Fanboys (print easy to get?)
This Island Earth (MST3K or the org)
Dalek Invasion of Earth
Roger Corman's Fantastic 4 I know, but Logan's Run is screening this year. Who knows?
Futureworld
The Shape of Things to Come (The 1970's version)
The Time Machine
Aliens
Spaceballs
Dark Star
Invader's From Mars (The 1950's one)
The Black Hole
The Terminator

I just reviewed the credits of Chris Fisher, the esteemed director of S. Darko.

I am not impressed.

Yup, it's a straight-to-video knock off. There are better choices for the marathon.

S. Darko is what I called a Redbox rental. Or a DVD rental from one of the kioshes that can be found around Columbus.

Having to screen S. Darko at the thon is the same as having a Uwe Boll "movie" screen at the thon.

Side note THERE IS NO REASON FOR A REMAKE FOR LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT!!! I DON'T WANT TO SEE THE TRAILER FOR THAT "MOVIE" EVER AGAIN!!!

Fantastic choices! I saw Fanboys when the writer, director, and producers did a QnA at the Lennox, great movie. MST3K's This Island Earth would be freaking hilarious, I've never seen Corman's Fantasic Four (always wanted to), and I think aliens, spaceballs, black hole, and terminator would play really well at the 'thon.

On the Horror thon boards they were discussing 3D films. How about the Following:

It Came From Outer Space and Robot Monster. I know that these are dual strip 35MM 3D films. BUT Creature from the Black Lagoon was shot in a similar way.

I just want to see a 3D flick that isn't The Creature From the Black Lagoon.
