Chopping Mall is on DVD and has quite a few extras. I had Kelli Maroney and Tony O'Dell sign my copy in LA last year. It's a really cool DVD release. Just wish they could have had alot of extras for Night of the Comet.

What about The Host?

Is there even a snowball's chance of getting that film?
Or are new films like that not available for single screenings?
I've seen some fantastic reviews for it.

THE HOST is opening nationally in the next week or two so, as much as we'd like to, we won't be able to include it.

Aw shucks, I was wondering if it had a chance of making it. Oh well, maybe next year.*crosses fingers* I have seen it by the way and IMHO it is an amazing film.

As for the expanded lineup, it looks great! Thank you again Bruce for all your hard work. :)

Thanks for the info, Bruce. I'm just curious, are there any films on our wishlist or on your short list that are now officially unavailable?

I had no idea Chopping Mall was available. As I said, I don't remember any of it, but if I enjoy it at the marathon, I'll probably end up buying it eventually. I can't believe they didn't even give Night of the Comet a trailer! Admittedly, the Bensen episode would have been quite a (wonderful) stretch, but for crying out lound put a @#*%ing trailer on it!

I saw DVDEmpire.com has Chopping Mall for sale if anyone wants to pick it up. I got it for about $9.99 quite a while ago.

KING DINOSAUR (1955)
FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE SPACEMONSTER (1965)
MINDWARP: AN INFINITY OF TERROR aka GALAXY OF TERROR (1981)
CHOPPING MALL (1986)
SLITHER (2006)

I must say this line up is looking great so far, can't wait to see the completed line up.

Did I miss something. These aren't confirmed are they. I thought the list that Bruce sent out was nothing more than a sampling of films that he will be choosing from. None of these are booked are they?

Cool. Didn't realize. So I haven't seen four of the five features. NICE! Hopefully the rest of the lineup will be balanced out with some nice classics (ie Clockwork Orange, SHE) and recent classics (ie Robocop, 12 Monkeys). So far I am digging it.

Don't forget about the surprise classic that Bruce is keeping under wraps until the thon too, that makes it a total of 6 films. So that leaves anywhere from 3 to 6 slots still open to be filled, seeing how the amount of films that we've had in the thon's history has been 9 at the least and 12 at the most. That depends of course on how long said films are and how much other material gets shown and such.

Can't wait to see what gets announced next! 8)

I have heard that the surprise classic is definately wine and not cheese.

Hopefully more than 3 slots remaining. I think I enjoyed the Seattle shorts more than most folks did last year, but I'll admit that 9 features just seems a little short.

That's why I'm happy with Chopping Mall. The thing is shorter than an Ewok.

I just looked up the times on imdb:

2007 so far
King Dinosaur - 63 min
Chopping Mall - 77 min
Frankenstein Meets the Spacemonster - 79 min
Mindwarp - 81 min
Slither - 95 min

2006 lineup
First On the Moon - 75 min
Westworld - 88 min
Invisible Boy - 90 min
Forbidden Planet - 98 min
The Crazies - 103 min
King Kong - 104 min
Serenity - 119 min
Godzilla Final Wars - 125 min
Batman - 126 min
plus 57 min of Max Headroom, those Seattle shorts (I forget how long, maybe about 45-60 minutes?), some Twilight Zone, and one long unedited interview with a nice old lady

Wow, looks like we're already way ahead of last year with respect to runtimes, so unless that surpise classic is the 4-hour version of Dune, I think we'll get more than 9 features this year.

Well you never know But Eraserhead did show at the very first horror marathon "SHOCKTOBERFEST" at the Grandview! But thats been like 10 years ago but I think it's seen more as a horror film than a Sci-fi but I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time.

Wow, the 5 confirmed films are really short. It totals about 6 1/2 hours. I didn't even realize it until cleazer pointed it out. All films are under an hour and a half except for Slither. So that's just over a 1/4 of the marathon booked, so for all of those complaining about the amount of features (I'm guilty too), there should be no problem this year. At this rate, we'll have 14 or 15 features, unless the lineup is filled out with 2001, and Solaris, etc.

OK, realistically the rest of the films won't be under an hour and a half, but nobody should fret about the lack of features. 12 should be no problem.
