I prefer April 16-17...but I will be there whenever it is.

I always prefer earlier. The later in the year it gets, the better the weather. For me, it's always better when the weather is not great (not horrible and rainy). Something about coming out of the theater when it's the first 80 degree day of the year makes me feel a little guilty about "wasting" a beautiful day. But then I remember that there will be more beautiful days and it doesn't really matter because I'm doing one of my favorite things.

First of all, I'm a new member, but a marathon veteran of days gone by when I lived in Columbus. (9,10,11 &. 12 with the t shirts to prove it).

I'm planning to attend this year and bring my son with me. However, a call to the Drexel produced some disturbing news. The young woman on the phone said that the Drexel was changing hands in one or two days and that there was no information about the marathon available.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks!

I'm also in the "earlier is better" camp. In my case, I'll feel really bad if the marathon is the 30th, because my wife had to volunteer to work some Saturdays in April, and I told her "Don't work the first two, those are the weekends most likely for the marathon" so she'll be at work on the 30th.

I've heard nothing about the Drexel changing hands anytime soon - but I imagine that if true, then they're not going to want to make that announcement on this forum. Most likely it'll come via e-mail or on the Dispatch.

Is it too late to change venues? Is the Grandview available on short notice?

You're right, the Marathons (and this Forum) are a separate entity from the Drexel theaters, so any announcement will probably be made to the Drexel's website (http://www.drexel.net) or the aforementioned e-mail/Dispatch exclusively.

Obviously, we'll link to anything that affects the events as soon as we hear about it, but as yet I have no word of any impending news. We're as "in the dark" as the rest of the world. :)

Hmm interesting, I have not heard anything about this either but if it's true and the new owners don't want to get involved with the Sci-Fi marathon I bet the Grandview would love to have it there.

At this point...it almost has to be the end of April/beginning of May, right?

No announcement, no tickets on sale with a little over a month left...

Seriously starting to worry about the fate of our beloved marathon. Are we going to have one? This is getting to be pretty late to not even know the date, even by our lax definition of last minute...

I'm having doubts that the Marathon will happen in April. May date now? Will this ever happens or it will skip a year?

Please some info or update on what is going on.

Hopefully will get an announcement with the date and partial line-up at the same time.
