Jeff Frank of the Drexel dropped me a note and wondered if anyone would be interested in volunteering? If so, please contact him directly at - jfrank@drexel.net.

Thanks!

What kind of volunteer work? In the theatre? Pre-marathon work? Free beer?

I'm afraid I don't know... Drop him an email and I'm sure he'll be happy to elaborate... ^_^ I would presume, though, that it is something either pre-thon or during the thon. ;)

Hey here! Typically I'm with the crew that has been first or second in line for many years now. End up getting roped into some pre 'thon volunteering. (typically making signs, stuffing programs and checking bags for outside food)

I know they are always looking for people to help out later in the night checking tickets/wristbands as people come and go.

Typically they have the theater employees already familiar with concessions working on that end of things.

Going to shoot Jeff an email now...

*edit*

Also for years I keep meaning to talk to Bruce and Jeff about volunteering time outside of the actual marathon and always get caught up with the immediate help and then never manage to snag them the rest of the night.

I'm sure there is so much prep that goes into things wrangling movies and such. I'm sure that eventually more people are going to need to help out on that end. Jeff and Bruce are going to want to retire to Florida some day right? :)

Thanks for passing this on. I, also, normally help out with signs and checking people for food. Always willing to help out any way I can.

Does Jeff check his email with any regularity?

I emailed him last week and have heard nothing back....

Just a brief FYI - I did drop Jeff an email and asked him to get back to everyone who volunteered. He's hoping to do it today...he's just been swamped with some other work and hasn't gotten to his email yet, so hopefully you guys will hear from him soon.

Will the marathon needs some volunteers again this year? For putting together the decorations like last year?

I wouldn't mind helping out again. If that one guy who have those found footage DVD and if the first movie is one I saw many times over I might help out through the first film.
