Also, how about Joseph Kahn's Detention, if the release timing ends up right?

My Wish list:

ICE PIRATES (Never shown at a marathon)

NIGHT OF THE CREEPS (Sci-fi/Horror Never shown at a marathon)

BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS (*Only showed once in 1993 and the print of Battle Beyond the Stars was in such bad shape that by the third reel it had no hope of staying in one piece going through the projector. After repeated breaks, it was shelved in favor of making up lost time.)

*Hall of Marathonia

GREEN SLIME (Never shown at a marathon) Even if it's DVD projected

*Click Here to buy GREEN SLIME from the Warner Brothers Shop and it's 16 X 9 LETTERBOX

Not sure about 35mm prints of Ice Pirates, although it's been handled by both MGM and Warners (both of whom take generally good care of their libraries).

Night of the Creeps played in Boston earlier this year to a generally good reaction. The print from Sony/Columbia was very nice, so that might be a possibility. And hey, any flick with Rusty from National Lampoon's European Vacation and Bubba from Mama's Family is okay with me.

That 1993 SF fest where Battle Beyond the Stars embarked on its ill-fated voyage was my first Marathon, so it holds a special place in my black heart. And to this day, I still haven't seen it all the way through. New World still has the rights, although I'm not sure if they have a screenable print.

I'm a bit conflicted on Green Slime (or any Holy Grail film...see The Devils, Werewolves on Wheels, etc.) showing on DVD, although in this case the incredible rarity of a 35mm scope print might overrule any reservations I have.

I wouldn't exactly call The Devils a "Holy Grail" film since it played way back in 1992 (incidentally, my first Horror Marathon). I guess maybe you mean on a personal level? Like, it must have disappeared since you began running these things?

Granted, The Devils has shown in the past. But that was eighteen years ago, and since then it has become extremely hard to screen on film outside of L.A. Check out longtime friend of the Marathons Marc Heuck's excellent blog entry for more on this topic. Needless to say, Bruce and I have been trying to book for it quite awhile now, only to be met by numerous roadblocks.

"so that might be a possibility"???? For the first time EVER Joe is talking like he may have some involvement with the Sci-Fi marathon film line up...hmmm Is this a sign of possible change :?: :?: :?: :?:

Such a fun movie and a childhood favorite of mine. And for Roger Corman do produce a remake of The Magnificent Seven and put it in Space and even cast Robert Vaughn in practically the Same role he had in The Magnificent Seven was just pure genius.

A little birdy told me that Mark may be in town for a certain upcoming Grandview event in the near future.

For one of the greatest opening lines in cinema history?

Abso'fraggin'lutely. :)

The big "Z" has been on my wishlist for over a decade now. Throw in "Colossus: The Forbin Project" and "Things to Come" and you've got a geek'gasm waiting to happen.

I'd even throw "Alphaville" on that list, but it's debatable.

All this on the Sci-Fi side, of course. If I had my druthers, I'd make you all suffer through "Incubus" at the next Horror. ;)

A BIG YES on Zardoz it is one of my favorite science fiction "comedies" I hopeful that Night of the Creeps might make it next year. The Green Slime must be in 35mm print from a proper vendor not some 16mm private collection since this is a commercial venture. Here is my picks.

Battle Beyond the Stars.
Not from this Earth. The original or the 1980's cheese remake.
Jason X Hey someone need to suggest the film.
Tron or Tron Legacy
Gravity The short haven't played for quite some time. Is it time for another live version.
Spaceboy remake funnier than the original
There's Nothing Out Here
Transformers the Animated Movie
Monsters Since it is science fiction more than horror. Watch it on TWC Mid Ohio on demand.

I'm new around here. I particularly like your showing documentary films as well as commercial flicks. Wish I had seen the Forry Ackerman piece last year. Hope to attend the 2011 Marathon.
Suggestion. I've been attending the CWRU Science Fiction Marathon for 22 years. I'll probably get slammed for this, but it might be interesting to look at the CWRU list of what they've shown over the last 35 years when you're thinking about films. Here it is.http://films.cwru.edu/sfmovies.html
Hope to see you y'all in Columbus.

I'm lazy enough to stick to my annual requests:

Metropolis, both the silent classic and the anime remake

Supeman 2, the Donner recut

Oddly, I've seen the silent Metropolis twice in a theater since I first requested it, and now have a copy of it at home. But I still want to see it with this audience.

and I'll add:
Moon (since it got lost last year)

I agree with the requests for Zardoz.
