Buy more tickets. Buy one for a friend. Buy one for an enemy. Consume concessions.

Beyond space! Beyond time! Beyond sleep!
It’s…
The 29th Annual 24-Hour Ohio Science Fiction Marathon

Noon Saturday May 19th until Noon Sunday May 20th
at the Drexel Theatre (2254 E. Main Street, Columbus, Ohio)

Blast off into the future and claim your chance to begin again in a golden land of opportunity and adventure! Yes, it’s time to rejoin the Marathon faithful for an entire rotation of the planet, a celluloid-drenched journey filled to the brim with classic space operas, cult rediscoveries, short subjects and trailers for coming attractions both past, present and future!

For 25 years, the Science Fiction Marathon has been the premiere event of its kind in the Midwest, offering a consistently diverse slate of filmic delights. This year should prove to be no different, as we unleash a dizzying array of titles, including:

*Robo-schlock madness in the OHIO PREMIERE of MANBORG!

*Lance Henriksen in the OHIO PREMIERE of low key space suspenser THE LAST PUSH!

*A tribute to the ultra-prolific Japanese director Kinji Fukasaku, featuring his controversial, long banned on these shores 2000 epic BATTLE ROYALE and the rarely screened, psychedelically candy-colored 1968 monsterfest THE GREEN SLIME!

*Wrestling legend “Rowdy” Roddy Piper in John Carpenter’s oft-requested “just because you’re paranoid, doesn’t mean they’re not after you” actioner THEY LIVE!

*Christopher Walken and Natalie Wood (in her final screen role) in Douglas Trumbull’s visionary virtual reality mindbender BRAINSTORM!

*A rare starring role for the Danish military(!) in 1961’s giant reptile extravaganza REPTILICUS!

*Roger Corman's 1958 classic WAR OF THE SATELLITES*

*Aliens vs. teen thugs in 2011’s cult hit ATTACK THE BLOCK!

*Electro-pioneers Daft Punk in their surreal 2006 feature debut ELECTROMA!

*Hunky Jake Gyllenhaal in Duncan (MOON) Jones’s time travel thriller SOURCE CODE!

*NOTE: 11th Hour Substitution as WAR OF THE SATELLITES replaces THE CREEPING UNKNOWN. The Ministry of Truth would like to remind you that this is not an actual change, and that Oceania has always been at war with East Asia. That is all.

Additional area premieres may also be added in the coming weeks.
