If you had to choose a movie from 2012 to show at the Sci-Fi Marathon what would it be?

I would pick DREDD or LOOPER since I missed them in the theater.

Why not both?

Seriously, they are both perfect marathon movies, as I posted last Fall when I saw them. No reason to put off showing them.

Looper was great, saw it twice.

Only saw Dredd once. What are my other choices?

Just took a look at the Boston marathon lineup. I haven't seen either John Carter or Safety Not Guaranteed, so I'd be happy to see one of those.

In fact, I've really wanted to see Safety Not Guaranteed for the past few months. I'd be thrilled if that was one of the recent films for this year's marathon.

The disney "art house" film Tim Burton's Frankenweenie I would like to see at the marathon. How about Robot & Frank?

I never saw Chronicle. I heard that was a good movie.

Ranking the films named in this thread so far, in order of preference:

Safety Not Guaranteed
Chronicle
John Carter
Dredd
Looper (this low only because I've seen it twice, its a great movie)
Robot & Frank
Frankenweenie

"ART" and "Tim Burton" do not belong in the same sentence......

8)

(and a movie that opens in over 3,000 screens ain't "Art House")

We shall never forget.........

You did notice the quotes, right? Disney greenlighting a stop motion black and white movie baised on a short that gotten Tim Burton fired from Disney and grosses well under 50 million dollars is the closest thing to an art house film.

How about Detention? Technically premiered 2011 (SXSW), but released 2012 in theaters.

Ow about the complete The Dark Knight Returns animated movie? Part two isn't going to be out until tomarrow. Haven't seen an animated movie at the Science Fiction marathon in a long time. Dark Knight Returns seems right.

I've been trying to forget that movie for over 10 years.

watched "The Darkest Hour" Friday night and it was pretty good, a more recent yet obscure title.

Chronicle Haven't seen it. Pretty violent but well reviewed.

I'd also suggest Iron Sky - if I hadn't seen it at the CWRU marathon.
Time Freak was a 2012 Oscar short subject nominee. It's funny, and would be a great change of pace.

The Asylum's Nazis at the Center of the Earth. It have one thing that Iron Sky doesn't have a giant Hitler Cyborg.
