Before the last marathon there was a thread suggesting films from that year that might be shown.
As it worked out Safety Not Guaranteed, Vanishing Waves, and Upside Down were all more or less current, with Inception being the most current big movie.

Anything within the realm of possibility of the recent stuff that you'd like to suggest?

Personally I missed all of the recent biggies, with the exception of IM3, partly on the assumption that I'd be seeing most at the three marathons I intend to attend in the next 12 months. I am pretty much out of the discussion, but am interested in others' suggestions.

I wouldn't mind seeing Europa Report or Last Day on Mars.

I always enjoy the "near future / our solar system" setting for sci-fi movies. There aren't enough of them.

I wouldn't mind Europa Report. I heard they worked with NASA to try to get the science right.

I watched Europa Report last night. Pretty good movie, although it felt pretty familiar plotwise. I think it would be a good marathon movie for the big screen in Blu-ray or DCP.

Spoiler: show
My roommate just got a ridiculous(ly expensive) new TV, so that definitely enhanced parts of it. The flyover of Europa looked AMAZING. Not sure if the fact that they go to Europa in "Europa Report" is a spoiler or not but decided to be on the safe side.

In memory of Richard Matheson who died this year - why not a couple of his films? Some have been shown previously and quite a few are not SF. Still, here's a list:

The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957)
Beat Generation (1959)[citation needed]
House of Usher (1960)
Master of the World (1961)
The Pit and the Pendulum (1961)
Burn Witch Burn (1962); a.k.a. Night of the Eagle (screenplay co-written with Charles Beaumont and George Baxt) based on the novel Conjure Wife by Fritz Leiber
Tales of Terror (1962)
The Raven (1963)
The Comedy of Terrors (1963)
The Last Man on Earth ( based on Matheson's novel I Am Legend)(1964)
Fanatic (1965)
The Young Warriors (1967)
The Devil Rides Out (1968)
De Sade (1969)
The Legend of Hell House (based on his novel) (1973)
Les Seins de glace (based on his novel Someone Is Bleeding) (1974)
Somewhere in Time (based on his novel) (1980)
Twilight Zone: The Movie: Fourth segment "Nightmare at 20,000 Feet" (1983)
Jaws 3-D (1983)
Loose Cannons (1990)
What Dreams May Come (1998)
The Box (2009)
Real Steel (2011)

Or, if you can't find a print of "The Last Man on Earth", try to book "The Omega Man" with Mr. NRA planet of the apes escapee CHARLETON HESTON!
