This year's 31st (unless a time portal drags us elsewhere again)
Annual Ohio 24 Hour Science Fiction Marathon will blast off
at noon Saturday, March 15, 2014 at the Drexel Theatre,
2254 East Main Street, Bexley, Ohio 43209.

Watch for film announcements and ticket availability…

Must be one of the earliest date announcements in years!

Congrats!

Thats early. Will the 35mm projector be up and running? Or it will be a bunch of crappy films in DCP again?

Considering that the posting of the date coincided with the "Restored 35mm Projection" fund-raiser of the Trailerthon? I think that to be very likely.

Also, do you really need to *start* the conversation with Bruce so hostilely? We've complained for years about the short-time between a date being announced and the date of the event. Bruce comes here with a 4-month lead time to tell us about the event, and you immediately start off with "What I don't like"?

There's a place to ask that. Heck, start a post right now asking about it, but the sheer ingratitude and sense of entitlement that I read from that just *really* rubs me the wrong way.

Also, while March is early, the event has taken place anywhere from January until May in the past. So, March isn't unheard of.

In conclusion, thanks again to Bruce for giving us such an early idea of the date so we can start planning.

Remember now Joe didn't care much about last year's Sci Fi film lineup. I didn't complain about the early date. Just surprise me. I'm glad that the 35mm projector will be up and running so we can see some good films for a change. That is all. Plus when did I missed the Trailerthon?

This is so excellent!!!!!
A March date is so much better with out nice May weather it should be easier to pull in some new faces.
But wait there's more!

So much time to schedule around it!
Time to go turn in my paperwork to ask for the 17'th off to recover.

Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you

Thank you Bruce.
Gives me time to arrange for a contingent of Clevelanders.

I'm tellin' ya, kids, we weren't just blowing smoke at the Horror Marathon. This could herald the start of a new purple patch for both Marathons.

And, if there is anyone who can be seen "blowing smoke" out of his orifices, it's Jeff Neff!

:D
