I think that the films listed on the 2014 suggestion thread can be taken as a given.
Here are a few that I bumped into while doing the Countdown thread. Please add to it by the way.
Some of these I have seen, some just look interesting.
Cube
Serenity
Seconds
Brother From Another Planet
Mars Attacks
Man From Earth
Starman
The Black Lagoon
Quatermass and the Pit
Primer
Source Code
Pi
12 Monkeys
Bride of Frankenstein
Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde
The Fountain
Creature From the Black Lagoon
The Man In The White Suit

Also. Think I suggested this one before.

edit: Finally saw it on HBO On Demand. A nice light film, but as usual, comes nowhere near the blurb

STARMAN (or Pretty Much any John Carpenter Film)
    GALAXY QUEST
    THAT ONE JASON MOVIE
SPACEHUNTER: ADVENTURES IN THE FORBIDDEN ZONE
PREDATORS (We need at least one recent movie and this one is fun)

These are more Fantasy but I think they would play well:
    KRULL
    DRAGONSLAYER

Team America is really a horrible film. I could say why, but you can look up reviews for yourself.

I do like the style of your suggestion. However if you take is seriously (Trey Parker SERIOUSLY???)
you have to include that Paramount Pictures cancelled any showings of the film today.
I guess that they were phobic of cockroaches.

Actually, TEAM AMERICA was one of the better-reviewed movies of 2004. 77% on Rotten Tomatoes, 64% on Metacritic, and 7.1/10 on IMDb (for the public's opinion rather than just critics).

First time poster, so sorry if we are behind the times. Our suggestions:

Jason X (that one Jason movie)
They LIve
Existenz
Flash Gordon (1980)
The Thing (Hawks)
The Thing (Carpenter)
Ice Pirates
It! The Terror Beyond Space
Barbarella
Beastmaster (Fantasy, but would also play well)

More to come.

Well thats a matter of opinion, I really liked TEAM AMERICA and pretty much anything Trey Parker and Matt Stone do, but I am immature that way. I am willing to bet that Paramount will lossen up by the time the Marathon Happens and if not we can always have a "Surprise Feature" :D

Let's have Under the Skin this year please. Unless someone has an objection to seeing Scarlett Johansson naked... (and if you do, please keep it to yourselves).

Team America - a science fiction film? How so? If we want a comedy, how about Sleeper?

I missed Under The Skin last year, so I'd love to see it.

Two movies that I saw already that I'd highly recommend would be Coherence and Predestination. I loved them both. Snowpiercer was decent too, and certainly more actiony and cinematic than the above two, so that might also be a good selection. And speaking of more thoughtful stuff like Coherence, if you want to show Her, that certainly qualifies as some high quality science fiction. And if you want to get people psyched up for the new Mad Max film coming out next May, you could always show The Rover.

I like the suggestion of Predators, I haven't seen that in a few years.

If you want some old school fun, there's always Deep Rising. (Perhaps more horror than sci-fi, but good and fun enough for a late slot.)

Folks wanting UNDER THE SKIN for a little T & A at 3am will likely be disappointed. Oh, Scarlett does go the full monty here, but, it's not done in an erotic or sensual way. And, it's the kind of arthouse slow burner that usually does NOT go well at marathons.

THE ROVER is like a Mad Max film minus all of the action. Another slow burner that would divide the crowd.

Beware.

Oh well, you can't have everything...

I was just reading about Wyrmwood, which is described as "Mad Max meets Dawn of the Dead". Sounds intense, although it might fit the "horror" category better.

Hawkes THE THING AND Carpenter's THE THING back to back would be cool.
JOIN DIES AT THE END is one if vote for and for some 80's cheesiness, XTRO or THE BEAST WITHIN.

around Midnight play the 2011 Prequel to John Carpenter's THE THING
around 10am play John Carpenter's THE THING to end the 'thon
