Remember why the countdown used to be fun? Yes! Because a different person had a chance at it each day! It doesn't really work when the same two people have taken it over.

To explain...there's been a countdown thread over at the Boston forum for a few years now. It started out like ours, with a different person writing a number each day. Soon, though, people began posting corresponding images instead of just numbers. Others joined in and there were soon multiple people posting number related images each day. This year's countdown thread eventually encompassed some 32 pages (check it out at www.bostonsci-fi.com.) It became a fun way for people to try to top each other.

So....there was no intention on my part of hijacking the thread. I would encourage everyone to post their own images, etc for each day. It seems like more fun than just writing the number each day.

Ditto on what Joe said, if you want to join in on the fun be my guest or simply don't read this thread the choice is yours.

Judging by the number of participants in the countdown lately, I doubt I'm the only one annoyed by The Joe & Usinoh Countdown Show. But you're right, I'm not going to die if the countdown doesn't work the way I enjoyed it working before.

I will say that I at least appreciate Joe explaining his take on the countdown.

Another good idea is to start your own countdown thread and set a few rules like you can only post to the thread once per week, so 7 different people can post per week...there is no rule against multiple threads of the same nature..
