I guess there are 2 Easter eggs in the credits for Deadpool, my friend said stay until the very end to make sure you see both clips.

I saw it on Sunday afternoon & loved it! Hopefully the $150 million+ it made domestically opens the doors for more hard R comic book films. It made another $132 million internationally, so all of the other studio naysayers that said that kind of comic book movie wouldn't make any money are probably eating a lot of crow.

For the record (before I get flamed for the comment I am about to make :) ), I LOVED it - I rank Deadpool in my top 3 super-hero films of all time!

However, I think the R-rating is the wrong message to take away from it's success, and I fear that IS what Hollywood is going to think is the lesson here.

Deadpool succeeded because it was an awesome, creative, innovative film - not strictly speaking because it was rated R. However, Hollywood likes to reduce things to formulas, and try to duplicate them. You can't really duplicate creativity and innovation, though. What I fear is that we're going to get a wave of copycat films now... "hey, let's slap more violence and vulgarity into X-men, Wolverine, Cable, etc"... which will copy the surface factors of Deadpool, and yet suck.

So James Gunn gets it.

I am intrigued to see the R rated Wolverine movie that apparently just got greenlit. But we are going to get more movies that stumble like Kick-Ass than ones that nail it like Deadpool does.
