There was an announcement made at the Marathon, but I thought I'd pop up a quick reminder that the Dep Focus Film Festival is playing April 19th-22nd at the Arena Grand.

Since this is the last opportunity in Columbus to see "Fido" before the long wait for its theatrical release (and since the festival is pretty neat-o-keen anyway), I figured I'd post a link to their page.

http://www.deepfocusfilmfest.com:80/index.html

They've got several excellent films on the list, both old and new, so it's worth taking a peek ...

Unfortunately one of my best friends is coming in from Minnesota this weekend, and totally keeping me from seeing most of these movies. I really wanted to see Paprika too. Damn. Oh well. I've already got my ticket for Waitress, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's good.

Romy & Michelle's High School Reunion?

SERIOUSLY?

How does that make ANY kind of film festival?

There's definitely some things there I'm interested in checking out. So looking at the tickets page, it's either $5 or $10 per film, depending on which you choose, right?

It has its moments but a much better reunion movie is Grosse Pointe Blank.

Maybe bad sentence structure on my part. I meant Romy and Michelle had its moment.

Grosse Pointe Blank is a much better high school reunion film.

Possibly my favorite quote, and there are many to chose from is:

Quote:
Dr. Oatman, please pick up, pick up! It's Martin Blank! I, I'm standing where my, uh, living room was and it's not here because my house is gone and it's an Ultimart! You can never go home again, Oatman... but I guess you can shop there.

This one is funny as well, but needs the visual:

Quote:
[Practicing in a mirror before his high school reunion] Hi. I'm, uh, I'm a pet psychiatrist. I sell couch insurance. Mm-hmm, and I - and I test-market positive thinking. I lead a weekend men's group, we specialize in ritual killings. Yeah, you look great! God, yeah! Hi, how are you? Hi, how are you? Hi, I'm Martin Blank, you remember me? I'm not married, I don't have any kids, and I'd blow your head off if someone paid me enough.

Yeah, but Romy and Michelle invented Post-It Noets!
