I thought it might be cool to recognize those members of the audience who were entertaining when the movie wasn't...every year we get some classic one Liners and comments but most go uncommented on the board so here is the place to remember...as always one Liners and comments are only good in moderation and should not over take the marathon...

I remeber a few and even had a few myself but I am only going to post a couple (not my own) to allow others room to post:

The most obvious One Liner from this years marathon was the constant "AH AH" everytime someone said "FLASH", for some reason it just never got old, all the way till the credits ran at the end of FLASH GORDON the audience was still doing it...the perfect running gag that the whole audience could enjoy...much like the "Close the door" days at the Drexel North"

The other one that I had fun with was the chant of "USA USA" everytime a liberal film maker tried to get us to change the way we think here in the USA about our beloved country. This was most abundant in "Automatons" Homer Simpson would be proud!!

I agree with the two you pointed out. About halfway through AUTOMATONS, I blurted sarcastically "Oh, I finally get it! It's a parallel to our current political situation! (slap on forehead)"

I was sitting in the very top row and I don't like to feel like "that guy," so most of my comments were exclusive to the balcony. In my area, we didn't have any annoying inappropriate snarkers, any problems anywhere else?

I am kind of ashamed for what I said after the SPIDERMAN 3 trailer. I thought it was funny and it made the people around me laugh, but it also may have offended, so I'm sorry if it did. I won't repeat it, but it involved being very excited for the movie and soiling underwear.

I liked the comment about Dr. Nadir from FRANKENSTEIN :"I'm ACTING!" "Brilliant!" (because he resembled Jon Lovitz ala Master Thespian).

Sanctuarys post in another thread reminded me of another good one: when the guy in GALAXY OF TERROR puked and then everyone repeated the puke sound everytime he was subsequently on screen.

I love the snarking. It's one of the reasons I go to the marathons... you don't get that experience watching at home. The thing that did bother me was the cell phones going off during the films AND people answering them and talking! Not good form.

The snoring guy during Star Trek was freakin LOUD. And he was only a few seats away from me. I realize he wasn't doing it on purpose, but Good Lord.

I only made a handful of comments and not very loudly... My personal gem was during "Frankenstein meets..." When the queen was inspecting the girls... Turn around..."stick it out!" (Baby Got Back reference)...anyway it got a huge laugh from the peeps in the middle section. Thanks.

Anyway, top 5 best audience reactions for me were:

1. Puking sound everytime the cowardly guy appeared (Galaxy of Terror)

2. Immediate "yeeaaaahhhh!" when the beehive girl took off her top and immediate "awwww" when she put it back on. (The Great Yokai War)

3. Flash...Ahhh-Ahhh (it was even funnier that we were tired and offered a lack luster "Ahhh-Ahhh)...(Flash Gordon)

4. Hand clapping during musical seques / scooter trips (Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster)

5. "Where's Joe?" (King Dinosaur)

I definitely think this was a highlight. While I'm not a big fan of all the snarking (especially during the movies I actually wanted to see), this was pretty nice.

With that said, why do so many people feel the right to comment during these movies? There was a guy about three or four rows behind me that made comments during the first few and last few movies and I'm sure he didn't say one funny thing the entire 24 hours. He was mostly just doing color commentary the entire time. If you're not going to make good comments, just don't make any at all.

Funny, people in BOSTON also made the Lovitz - Nadir Connection! 8)

And, Comix' note about those half-wits who do play-by-play commentary is spot on! Geez, I've been stuck next a few of those fools in my time, and it's annoying as #$#$! One guy thought it "necessary" to READ OUT LOUD every single Sign, newspaper headline, written message etc for the full 24 hours --- grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Most people keep the snarking to a minimum and are fine. It is the people who keep doing it over and over and over who are the problem to my thinking. There were two people near the front were I was who kept going the whole time. Had those two kept quiet, I would have been fine. The group ones noted previously, as well as many saying along of lines with Gravity and Duck Dodgers, are fun and appropriate.

"You shouldn't keep the death machines near the place you sleep" during Automatons. For some reason, the awfulness of the movie, combined with the late hour and 2 beers made the perfect combination.

Yeah, I think I remember what you said. *snickers*

As for me, I love a bit o' snarking during the films. In fact, it's one of my favorite things about the marathon. The puking sound was just hilarious, and some of the other comments already mentioned had me rolling. And I did do quite a few "ah-ahs" during Flash.

Something not snarked per se, but realized by much of the audience, was the line Bruce Willis said in 12 Moneys which was , "All I see are dead people." It took a second to register the connection, but man was it funny. I also never spotted to the shot in Chopping Mall in the pet shop with the hilariously cut off bird food box before the audience started insanely giggling.

How about "Where's Timmy?" to Fido.

The Timmy character in Fido HAD to have been named specifically for the "What is it boy, where's Timmy?" line. The entire character was building to that gag.

I definitely wasn't bothered by the snarking at all, and thankfully what there was of it in my section was mostly pretty good. The only thing that did bug me somewhat was during the beginning of Flash Gordon, one or two people right behind me were reciting the entire movie, word for word. I mean, I know it's a good movie, but seriously...

Since no one mentioned these I will add them:

When Frank (in Frankenstein meets the space monster) "locked up" Someone in the back made a great comment about him running on Windows and a few minutes later someone down front unknowingly made the same comment.

But I think my favorite line of the night was during Flash Gordon when Flash alone was easily defeating Mings army in football fashion (go Flash go) a very talented and extremly funny person with great timing yelled "looks like he is playing against the Cleveland Browns" man that was funny especially to a Bengals fan like myself!

During that sequence, a guy in the back row was doing a very good dumb jock voice and just saying "football" over and over again.
