I just heard from director Glen Coburn that he is trying to get Bruce to show the 1984 cult classic sci-fi/horror film,Bloodsuckers From Outer Space. This would indeed be a rare screening of the great 80s bloodsoaked/comedy/horror/sci-fi film. Let's rally around and get this puppy showed. C'mon,Bruce. Maybe we could even get Glen as a special extra guest.

You gotta love a movie who gives a character named, "Dead Woman" fourth billing and the "President's Playmate" fifth.

Uncle Joe sounds like a great name too.

This sounds like a must see film.

Robert Bradeen ... Uncle Joe
Big John Brigham ... Norman
Glen Coburn ... Ralph Rhodes
Franny Coppenbarger ... Dead Woman
Christine Crowe ... President's Playmate
Joyce Dixon ... Seductive Bloodsucker
Laura Ellis ... Julie
Dan Gallion ... The Farmer
Rick Garlington ... Major Hood
Christopher Heldman ... Sam (as Chris Heldman)
Billie Keller ... Aunt Kate
Paul LaRocque ... Driver
Dennis Letts ... General Sanders
Thom Meyers ... Jeff Rhodes (as Thom Meyer)
Kris Nicolau-Sharpley ... Jeri Jett
Julie P. Oliver-Touchstone ... Screamer
Pat Paulsen ... U.S. President
Darrell Shelton ... Guard
Jim Stafford ... Buford
Richard Wainscott ... Richard
Samantha Walker ... Pam
John Webb ... Dr. Pace
Jack Wilkinson ... Coroner

For me, it depends on how the rest of the lineup shapes up. A good marathon needs a mix of old and new, good, cheesy bad and ugly. We already have an admittedly bad gory eighties movie scheduled in Lady Terminator. Not to mention the probably cheesy 7th Planet and Stranger From Venus.

So while Bloodsuckers looks like a lot of fun and a good marathon type film, it may not fit into this year's lineup. We had a similar situation last year when Bruce asked us if we wanted to see Flesh Gordon. It was most likely not booked last year in order to avoid an overabundance of cheese, which can make the overall marathon experience less interesting. At least that's my opinion. There is such a thing as too many "so bad they are good" movies.

Speaking of the rest of the lineup, how is it shaping up? At least six or seven slots open and less than a month away! I'm getting anxious. At least tell us a couple things that are cooking and not necessarily confirmed? I like to be teased.

I really think they should show Flesh gordon, lots of T@A yes but not really pornographic, I have the DVD and it's very funny and entertaining, The late night marathon crowd would eat it up.

It's no worse than BLOODSUCKING FREAKS and the Drexel Showed that a few years back at a Horror Marathon.

Yes, like I said, I don't think Flesh was dropped because of content. I believe it was mainly because of it's context within that year's program. I would love to see it as well as Bloodsuckers at a marathon, i just don't want five or six movies like that with similar vibes in the same marathon.

I'm of the opinion that we can do much better than this, either with legitimately good movies or the so bad they're fun movies. This looks like 90 minutes of tedium to me.

I saw this a looooooong time ago, like when I was 15! It's one of those movies that is bad on purpose. I remember it being funny when I was 15, not sure what I would think now. I'd be into seeing this some year at the marathon, but I agree that the lineup needs to be carefully considered before booking it.
