BEBE BARRON, who with her husband Louis, composed the 'music' for FORBIDDEN PLANET, has passed on. One of the elements of FORBIDDEN PLANET that makes the movie unique in 50's SF, that score still has a distinct otherworldly sound and feel. It was a daring, if not downright avant-garde concept at the time. A true landmark in the history of film scoring.

Here's a interview from a couple of years ago with her (includes links for Interview and video clips):

Because their sound wasn't considered "music", they never were considered "composers" and didn't get a chance to work much on more films.

Oh, one more interesting credit to their resume - SPACE BOY (via sound excerpts). Yup, that SPACE BOY!!
