I just saw on HorrorDVDs.com that a new 35mm print of King Kong vs. Godzilla is available and showing in NH next month. Would be very cool for a showing at the marathon.

BRUCE TRY TO GET THIS MOVIE, PLEASE. I don't care if its the Universal International or the Toho version. I wouldn't care if the print isn't in its non anamorphic format.

I wouldn't mind seeing it either. Hopefully the print is as nice as the Mothra print that we had a couple of years ago.

We've not had a Godzilla film in a while have we? Or perhaps my memory is just awful...

Your memory is awful, it would seem. At SF 23 we had both the original King Kong and Godzilla: Final Wars. The year before that we had Mothra, and before that, Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidora.

We've also had quite a few Gamera films in the past 10 years.

Not that I'm complaining - I'm a fan of kaiju. But the big G hasn't been absent from the 'thon all that long.

True it hasn't been all that long ago. Since there's a brand new print of King Kong vs Godzilla it would be a shame for the thon to missed out on screening this cult classic.

I would love to see it as well. I recall as a kid reading about it in the Crestwood series of books and they talked about multiple endings.

Anyone else recall these books? I rembember them from elementary school in the mid-70s. They combined with Superhost on WUAB43 were my introduction to this wonderful genre.

There never was a real alternate ending, was there?

Not really, no. There was differences in the dialogue that left the ambiguity of Godzilla's survival more or less in doubt, and the Japanese version had both monsters's roars heard during the credits.
