I've been requesting Metropolis every year for a few years. I'd happily wait another year if that new print is available then. If and when it is booked I'd also like to see the Japanese anime version.

I would also like to add the Donner cut of Superman 2 on a big screen.

I posted when I saw Moon I think that would make perfect sense as the overlooked film of the past year.

Remake of Spaceboy?! Isn't that suppose to be some sort of sin? Get it if you must.

The new print of Metropolis is making it's North American debut at the Turner Classic Movies film festival in Hollywood the week after our marathon. Seeming as that is kind of a big deal, that means it is definately not happening for us this year.

How about a global warming movie? The Day the Earth Caught Fire from 1961 is pretty good. Simultaneous H bomb tests from the US and the USSR alter the Earth's orbit.

And Caught Fire features Janet Munro, one of my favorites.

And, there are prints! It has played L.A. a couple of times. Hopefully, the print is the 'continental' version which, YES, in 1961, features a few delightful frames of nudity with Ms. Munro!

A print of which played, and startled, the Boston crowd waaaaaaaay back in the early 80s.............

I would love to see "The Dark Crystal" on the big screen again--and if it exists, a film print of the Richard Donner cut of "Superman II"would be...well, Super!

Well, if you wanted GOOD humor, get an ice cream!

OO..that reminds me--"Killer Klowns From Outer Space"!!!

I'll make my annual request the 1954 Japanese cut of Godzilla/Gojira and They Live.

Plus Zardoz, Fanboys, Pi, or how about Being John Malkovich?

Night of the Creeps
Slither
Green Slime
The Blob
The Incredible Melting Man

There you go- make it a slime marathon! Don't forget to include Weird Al's 'Slime Creatures from Outer Space' to the marathon soundtrack between films.

If we want to go with a theme, how about Dark? We are sitting in it for 24 hours.
We have:

Dark City
Dark Star
A Scanner Darkly
Near Dark
Darkman
Donnie Darko
Dark Crystal
Dark Knight

Now I'm stretching

Moon (it has a dark side)
Pitchblack

Am I missing anything? It feels like there should be more.

A BIG YES ON THE FUNGUS OF TERROR. How about some Bug flicks? William Castle's Bug, Empire of the Ants (1970's) or Phase IV. Low budget flicks like Galaxina, Battle of the Stars. How about Space Thing or Flesh Gordon? Cafe Flesh? (Quickly runs away from own thread)
