I stumbled across a great image for 25, unfortunately they had it blocked for borrowing. :) However, the topic was interesting, especially considering Galaxina. As they describe it, the top 25 most important SF & fantasy heroines of all time. List was limited to TV and Movies.

I never really thought of Alias as Sci-Fi, I would probably swap in Diana from V in that spot. I might argue a bit with the order as well.

Ahh how the once mighty Star Trek franchise have fallen. Doctor Who outranks Star Trek. Then I grew up watching Doctor Who and Star Wars than Star Trek. Having a vessel that can travel time and space vs a FTL starship, I'll take the time and space vessel.

I try to watch ST:TNG when it was in first run syndication almost turned me off anything Star Trek.

Judging Trek by TNG is like judging marathons by Automatons.

This is why I rank ST:TNG the least favorite Trek series. Here is my rankings of ST series: ST:TOS including the animated series, ST DS9, ST Enterprise, Voyager, then ST: TNG. The reboot movie is better than ST:TNG.

TNG haters? Did you watch them as they came out or was this a revisiting? I remember mostly liking them at the time, though I was concerned they seemed to in the first season redo a couple original episodes and I was afraid they would do more of that. I thought the male skirts were odd. However, there hadn't been much sci-fi on the small screen, and at that point TNG was better than most of what was there, so I still have a soft spot for it. I will say, the theatrical movies were mostly bad, with the exception of First Contact.

I have been snagging the episodes on the TiVo, and have been watching the first few seasons. They are a bit heavy handed/preachy, the acting is inconsistent, but getting better.

OK Comparing TNG to Automatons was a bit strong. Compared to most TV, TNG is pretty good. I think it is the weakest Trek series. I always thought the characters in TOS and DS9 were much more interesting.

They had their chance to make ST TNG interesting. They should have gotten rid of Picard and replace him with Riker. Plus with all of the Captain Janeway haters, she was the only Star Trek Cannon Captain to destroy the Borg Unicomplex. She was promoted to Admiral.

I do hope the Star Trek Reboot Cannon Picard will be better than the Star Trek Prime Cannon version.

The inclusion of Megan Fox is awful.

And the omission of Helen Benson, as played by Patricia Neal, from The Day the Earth Stood Still completely invalidates this list.

I still upset that Sarah Jane Smith should have place higher on the list.

I also wonder if June Lockhart should have made the list.
