Here's a schedule. There are still a couple of iffy items, but we know you love surprises. Most of you returning Marathoids already know that cosmic calamities can strike at any time, so titles or showtimes could change. The best way to avoid missing anything is to stay (and stay awake!) for 24 hours.

The 27th Annual Ohio 24 Hour Science Fiction Marathon
Noon Saturday until noon Sunday
11:30 - pre-show trailers and shorts
- - - STINGRAY SAM -Ohio Premiere - will be shown, as originally intended, in serial form throughout the Marathon
12:15 - MOON
2:30 - INK - Ohio Premiere
4:30 - SPACEBOY (1973) & SPACEBOY (2009) - Bexley Premiere! - together at last, with filmmaker Mike Olenick
5:30 - RICHARD GARRIOTT: MAN ON A MISSION - Midwest Premiere
7:30 - 27th Annual Costume Contest
8:00 - THE LONG-HAIRED GIANT MONSTER, GEHARHA - Ohio Premiere
8:20 - SLEEP DEALER - Columbus Premiere
11:00 - GODZILLA VS KING GHIDORAH (1991)
1:15 - THE LOST SKELETON RETURNS AGAIN - Columbus Premiere
3:15 - BATTLE IN OUTER SPACE
5:30 - STAR TREK (2009)
8:00 - GALAXINA
10:00 - 2010: THE YEAR WE MAKE CONTACT
all with lots of vintage trailers, spacey shorts and cartoon favorites

The 12 Hour Science Fiction Halfathon - Midnight Saturday until noon Sunday
12:00 - 2010: THE YEAR WE MAKE CONTACT
2:15 - STAR TREK (2009)
5:00 - GALAXINA
7:30 - GODZILLA VS KING GHIDORAH (1991)
10:00 - BATTLE IN OUTER SPACE
with a limited selection of trailers, shorts and episodes of STINGRAY SAM

Is the Godzilla film Godzilla vs King Ghidorah (1991) or Godzilla vs Mothra (1992)? The poster on the films page is Godzilla vs Mothra.

I'm guessing that's a last-minute change.

That said, Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991) is, in my opinion, one of the best Godzilla films in the franchise, so I'm not unhappy with the change.

5:30 - SURPRISE PREMIERE - sorry, still awaiting confirmation - keep watching the website!

I'm wondering out loud if this might be "Queen of Blood" since it falls in the schedule right after the "Spaceboy" shorts. It would be cool to see the origin of "Spaceboy"!

Can't wait for Saturday...Thanks to all involved!

The last minute replacement doesn't bother me much, because I'm not a huge fan of the Japanese stuff. They're all the same to me. (lol, I hope I don't sound racist, I'm referring to the FILMS of Japan, of course...)

And if fans of the genre say that this is one of the best of the lot, then so be it. The general fan vibe on IMDB seems to be stronger as well. So, no great loss replacing one Gojira film with another.

I, too am disappointed with the fewer amount of older classics in the lineup. But, as a result, plus having to schedule the halfathon, we have a pretty strong back end of the lineup. The goofy Galaxina is going to be very trippy at breakfast time...

I would have flipped 2010 and MOON, but this works, too. Then again, I said the same thing many years ago with Flash Gordon and 12 Monkeys, and it turns out that alignment was actually perfect, so what do I know.

Marathons are like a box of chocolates...

Well Jacks, I can say that Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah has more sci-fi elements to it than Godzilla vs. Mothra. And if you are a fan of time travel movies it's got that too.

I for one am glad for the replacement.

Looks like a damn fine schedule to me. 8)

Bummer. I was hoping that 2010 would be shown earlier in the marathon. The last time it was shown, it was also towards the end or at the end and I missed it :(
It would've been nice if Star Trek were show earlier too. It would've presented the chance for:
A) people who didn't want to see it again to go to dinner or
B) have dinner w/a really fun movie for those who really would like to see it again (while still conscious)

During the last couple of days I've managed to watch The Time Travelers, Alien Trespass, Cat Women of the Moon, Mutant Chronicles, Robocop, and Tokyo Gore Police. I am currently watching Rollerball, and later on the agenda is The Thing from Another World and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. I'm soooo excited for Saturday! ONLY 2 MORE DAYS!!
