Did you know that the word "soporific" was once used on the message board? No? Well, that's possibly because it was used on the old drexel.net message board that was wiped clean many moons ago, which (in part) prompted the creation of this new and independent online forum for all things Marathoid.
But like so many stray radio signals floating in the interstellar ether, those long lost forum postings still exist. You probably wouldn't be surprised to know that I spend quite a bit of time trolling the web for old Marathon-related items. I had assumed that post-deletion, the forum archives were gone for good. But today, I finally happened upon many of them while plugging in the Drexel webpage to the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine. For convenience's sake, I've posted links below to some of the pages that still have active links. Some of them turn up dead, but there's a surprising amount of material that's still active.
So...
THRILL to the legendary uprising to dump
Contact from the 2002 Sci-Fi Marathon lineup!
CHILL at the sight of eloquent posts from people who don't attend the Marathons anymore!
LAUGH as you see loyal Marathoids salivatingly speculate about getting Raimi's
Spider-Man for a premiere!
CRY as you remember when Tim Martin still posted under his real name and not as Jaws3Dfan (which is almost as bad as when he changed his handle to SuspiriaFan#1 for those two odd months back in '04).
WALK THE OTHER WAY as you marvel at Steve Carter's rabid Marathophilia!
But seriously, there's are some really great and in-depth threads in this treasure trove, so dive in and maybe we can reminisce on this, our current forum home.
