Someone I like quite a bit on this board often takes swipes at Obama. That's fine. He's been a failure-just like the GOP has been putting every single ounce of energy into ensuring he would be. But let's face it: by all metrics George W. Bush was the worst President in modern times, and Obama's not much better but he might have 5 more years to catch up to the record of failure before him. Can we all just agree that both political parties are wretched and pathetic mongrels lapping at the blood and gristle on the boots of Wall St. after hedge fund managers and CEOs have stomped us all into wet pulp? I mean seriously, Democrats and Republicans both have the same goal: power and enriching themselves and their friends. I'm sick of the horror show that is the evening news every night and I think we should all just put our political POVs to rest on here. That liberal hippy down the street didn't hurt your life any more than that conservative uncle with the big gun collection did. Let the politics drop everyone. End of rant.

Oh I hate both parties. I pretty much hate all politics. They are all just greed people looking for the best way to line their own pockets and secure their own future. It's very pathetic. I love America and it makes me sad to see the country in this sad state.

If you have never heard the term "South Park Rebublican" you should google it, it's the closest I can come up with that explains what side I am on. I am no Bush lover but at least he didn't promise me anything and than fail to deliver. I was realy hoping that things in this country would change for the better once Obama got into office but he sided with big business one day 1 and has proven that he has his own personal agenda that has nothing to do with improving America.

We all need to vote in someone with no Political background, with no family and only 4 years to live so personal wealth means nothing to them. And with any luck this person would not bow down to the pressures of the oil companies and the tobacco companies. Heck maybe this candidate is dying from second hand tobacco smoke and oil fumes.

I agree with dropping the politics on this board. People can believe whatever they want to, I really don't care. But this is not the place for it. I don't inject my politics into my posts, and I'd prefer everyone else do the same. There are plenty of political websites out there if you want to argue politics and criticize politicians. Frankly, I come here to get away from that stuff. No one is going to change their minds about politics just because someone posted something on a movie marathon message board! So what is the point of bringing it up here? Let's just agree to disagree (or agree to agree, whatever) and let it go.

Horor movies are a great way to reflect the fears and anxieties of a culture through metaphor. The worst part of Automatons for me wasn't the lego people blowing up with firecrackers, it was the blunt on-the-nose political critique that was so blatantly anti-Bush that only Michael Moore could have found it subtle. So instead of the horrors of reality, let's all talk about the horrors on the screen. And I don't want my hate of all politicians to anger people the true believers out there (of both parties) so if it does, just pretend I said I love both parties equally. What a bunch of brave civil servants, putting the interests of the country as a whole above their own petty political interests. Now what are your premieres going to be?
