Post subject:  The 4400 / Eureka

Anybody watch The 4400 on USA or Eureka on SciFi?

I've been enjoying both shows (The 4400 more than Eureka), and am looking forward to both coming back this summer. Not only are they quality sci-fi TV (IMO, at least), but they're off-season shows, which is even better! I mean, it's this or reality TV garbage on all the networks right?

Eureka is a pretty light show, set in a top secret government town full of insanely intelligent/advanced scientists working on crazy advanced projects. Lots of fantastic mad scientist-type things going on, with a dash of conspiracy and intrigue thrown in to keep things at least somewhat grounded.

The 4400 has a lot more meat to it, with a good storyline about alien abductees returning with special powers, how the government handles it, why they were abducted, what the powers are for, etc. I think it owes a LOT to the Rising Stars comic series, but still stands up on it's own, and separates more and more as the underlying story is revealed.

I love both 4400 and Eureka. I try not to miss either.

Eureka reminds me a bit of Northern Exposure. I watched some of the 4400 but didn't put it on the Tivo, fell behind and kind of lost interest. I just don't have as much TV watching time as I used to.
