Does anybody remember a horror host show that appeared briefly on Channel 28 in the late 1980s called "Mona's Place"? It was hosted by some kind of Elvira knock-off. I don't know if it was local or syndicated.

I only remember watching one movie on the show, ZOMBIE'S LAKE. I think it was in a prime time slot on a week night, which was odd, but Channel 28 didn't have much programming back then.

I don't remember the show, though I wish I did. However, I found a little bit of information about it.

I watched every Moana's Place and Nightmare Theatre on Channel 28 and have the autographed photos from the day. They were reprinted in an article I did for Scary Monsters #5. She is featured on one of those Bloopers and Practical Jokes Tributes on Horror Hosts that is on Youtube still,I believe. Terry Wharton supposedly has some videotaped footage of her hosting Moana's Place but has yet to come to light with it.
Moana is Kim Norris, who is now Jim Petro's personal secretary. She did the Channel 28 news for about 2 years until she moved into government work and became what she is now. I've seen photos of her recently in press talks and she still looks very nice.

Yeah 28 did a lot of local programming back then. Their Kids club was pretty nicely done. The earliest host, Susie, I think is Shaun Ireland (of local radio fame or infamy, depending on your view of the Morning Zoo and/or Sunny 95.)

Yolanda Harris was also a host.

I used to tape (and tape over Moana's show. Good memories.
