This is only tangental, but there's overlap between superheroes and sci-fi, so...

OMG. Disney is purchasing Marvel Comics.

I just saw that on WSYX DT news crawl a few minutes ago. What the hell? I hope Disney doesn't fuck with the comics or the upcomming movies. What will happen with the current Spiderman cartoon on The CW and Wolverne and the X Men?

They've said that all current distribution/licensing deals will remain in place, with things coming back in-house as deals expire.

And I don't see Disney interfering with Marvel Comics or content of Marvel films. Disney owns Touchstone, Hollywood Pictures and they owned Miramax for years. They didn't sanitize things over there.

Disney bought Marvel because they think it has value, value they can increase with the Disney marketing machine behind it. They didn't buy Marvel so they could "fix it".
