I hear officially autographed marathon tickets are going for a pretty penny on eBay right now. Where can I get some?

I'm still hoping for Ghostbusters. I could also go for Hocus Pocus. It really puts me in the Halloween mood.

I'm rabidly opposed to wasting valuable marathon time with playing feature length documentaries like Room 237, or that Star Wars one a few years ago. Play trailers for them or old "educational" shorts but do not waste 90+ minutes on documentaries that really only appeal to a small segment of the audience who can easily find them on Netflix. Consider all the times that the way awesome "Slither" has gotten bumped from a line up due to time constraints but yet we were still forced to sit through that pointless Star Trek doc "Captains" a few years ago. I imagine that even most of those who enjoyed the docs would've probably preferred seeing "Slither" or another classic or cult classic instead.

Depends. I'd rather watch a good in-genre film than a documentary. But I'd rather watch a good documentary than a bad in-genre film (unless it's in the "so-bad-it's-good" category).

So, it all comes down to what's available.

And the thing I like about seeing the documentaries at the marathons is that oftentimes, they're things I wouldn't have sought out on my own.

Since Slither was mentioned, I think it's time for that movie to finally happen at the marathon already... long overdue. :!:

Here here MEATFETISH. Why waste marathon time on documentries. Room 237 can be viewed on dvd. If I wanted to see some tin foil hat BS that Room 237 spews out I can watch Fox "News" for 90 mins. Don't waste marathon time on docs.

Room 237 was fun to watch but it makes the same mistake most documentaries make, they have about 30 minutes worth of content and they stretch it out to 2 hours. They show the same scenes over and over again, they say the same thing 10 times. If Room 237 was 30-40 minutes long it would have been awesome and I wouldn't mind seeing it at the marathon.

Now, if it does make it into this years lineup I would say show it before THE SHINNING so the crowd can compare what they just saw to the actual movie itself.

I am at work listening to the podcast of Joe and Kevin Carr (Fat Guys at the Movies) talking about the upcoming Horror Marathon. Look it up online it's cool AND Joe Says "Glavin" keeping with the last Simpson post.
