Apparently based on a popular Japanese video game.

Aya is a warrior searching for her sister Saki, who killed their father out of jealousy and spite for Aya always being the favorite daughter, the better fighter and chosen leader of their clan. Saki alligns herself with a mad scientist who has created zombies that have overran the world. Joining Aya in her quest for vengeance and zombie killing is a portly fellow named Katsuji who is searching for his own sister, who was one of many abducted by the scientist for experimentation and another female warrior named Reiko who is decked out in black leather and packing a double barreled shotgun that apparently never needs to be reloaded.

Just got done watching it and put simply I loved it! It isn't anything you could even begin to call quality cinema or intelligent, but on a brainless sheer fun level this film is city leveling, planet shattering, universe crushing, existence anihilating supreme bastard destroying pwnage empowered by God!

Listen, if you are someone who takes film entirely too seriously and will try to put this down by comparing it to The Godfather then you will not like this film at all. But if you got no problem checking your brain at the door and kicking back for some logic raping brain cell killing fun then this is the movie for you. Granted I am biased, seeing how I love zombies, action, and scantily clad Japanese women.

You can purchase the region free DVD on both Amazon and ebay for around 10 bucks at the cheapest. And yes it has subtitles.

The website.

ok so I watched One Chanbara last night and it was a good movie but perhaps to slow for the marathon crowd. There was a lot of story and a lot of back story in the movie. The action scenes were fun although I do have to say they stole a lot from the ZELDA games especially the spinning sword move and even some of the sounds were very ZELDA like. The gore scenes were very CGI and where the two main star get there "special" powers from was never explained. It was a decent film but I don't know if it's marathon material or not.

To each their own I guess. I gotta honestly say that I found this film allot more entertaining than several films I've had to endure at the marathons.
