Jeff do you need some sort of third party test subject to view Flesh for Frankenstein?

I imagine they will use a 3-D test strip, it's basically a loop image that runs thru the projector that allows the projectionist to tweak the special 3-D lens until the 3-D looks the best possible.

Jeff has nothing to do with the horror marathon, that's why it is held at the Grandview theater.

Jeff have nothing to do with the horror thon? Who is that person with the beard who host the horror thon every year? It must be a different Joe Neff who posted that the tix might be on sale at the end of the month.

Wouldn't the nefarious twin of Joe be clean cut, no facial hair, have a suit and tie and preach about the horrors and dark-sidedness, of the Horror Marathon, with bible in hand of course? Similar to evil Cartman on South Park who was a very nice young boy.

We're close, my friend. Reeeeal close. So close to more news that I can smell the rotting Marathon carcass as it knocks at my door on nightly basis, begging to get inside.

Hmmm.....maybe that wasn't the best metaphor to use.

But in any case, we're thiiiiis (picture thumb and forefinger close together) close to announcing the majority of the remainder of the films, putting tickets on sale and getting a flier into all of your obsessive Nightmarathoid paws. Right now, it's just a matter of a few final films and potential attractions to confirm. And trust me, Bruce and I are chomping at the bit to get things moving.

If it's any consolation, here are a few hints at what we're still waiting on for confirmation:

*Premieres! Or, more likely, premiere. It's always nice to have a premiere of some sort on the flier and initial press release, so we're trying to secure one. Several of the premieres we're interested in will likely not be confirmable until later in the process (a longstanding Marathon tradition in and of itself), but we're waiting for a possible yes on one in particular.

*A modern classic that has never screened at a Columbus Marathon. This film was somewhat reviled in its day, but it's stature has grown accordingly over the years. And it's incredibly hard to find domestically in 35mm, which is the main reason that we're waiting for word on its availability.

*A potential guest. Absolutely no promises here, but we have a few possibilities that we've been chasing and getting the okay from one of them might require a slight change in part of the lineup. Hopefully, we'll have a yes/no verdict very soon.

So there you go: news about potential future news. Keep yer eyes peeled here, 'cause as soon as the final pieces fall into place (or as soon as we wedge replacement pieces into those places) we'll post the info on this site.

How about Flesh for Frankenstein 3D? Is it still going to happen? Any hint about tix price?

Since we booked it, we've been running under the assumption that FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN would show flat/non-3D. Now, we've also wanted to explore the option of screening it in 3D, but we still have to run the test (hopefully soon) at the Grandview to see if that's viable.

Ticket prices should be in the general neighborhood of the last few years, although the confirmation of a guest would likely add a few dollars onto that price. Also, one or two of this year's films cost a bit more than usual, so that might be factored into the price as well.
