Alright folks, if you want to continue the war over who's a better Marathoid, the troll or non-troll status of board members, the likelihood of DB Cooper currently living with 2Pac in east Montana and any other related topics, take it to the PMs.

Or better yet, take it to the nifty new section over here that we established for just such conversations.

The only thing that I'll add to this (ahem) stimulating back and forth is that, as I posted here before the SF Marathon, no one is forced to read every thread or to comment on every posting in every thread. There is sometimes a general trend of some forum members doing so (especially in the case of chastising certain lines of discussion which they aren't obligated to participate in), which results in some activity on this board looking troll-like. Lord knows, there have been posts on the forum over the years that I've disagreed with, but I haven't felt compelled to comment on all of them...except for Tim's....but he deserves that for recommending me for the Grandview GM job back in 1998, thus exiling me to the ninth circle of Hell (a plunge that I still haven't pulled myself all the way out of).

But that's all I'll say for now.

Please note that the posts created after my warning have now been moved to (yet another) troll debate thread in the Where Was The Kaboom? section. Please continue those related discussions there. Thanks.

MORE NEWWWWWSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

(hey! it worked last week)

I know this year's lineup is probably close to lock-down, but I re-watched a movie recently that, in the future, may make an interesting, though definitely off-beat entry.

Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0117293/

To those unfamiliar, it is a documentary about three teenagers accused of brutally murdering and, in one case, mutilating three grade schoolers in the early 1990s in Arkansas.

(spoiler alert if you don't know the story or follow the news)
It's widely believed they were wrongly convicted -- though part 2 and the upcoming part 3 dives way more into that. After 18 years, they were freed last month.

Anyway, part 1 (1996), though a documentary set mostly in a courtroom, has horror elements throughout -- certainly the crime itself, then there is the Christian religious fervor from the victim's families and the rumors of occult/satanism among the accused who many think were singled out for wearing black, listening to metal, and a few other "outsider" tropes.
The 2.5 hour run time seems intimidating for a doc, but it moves briskly and is compelling throughout.

I watched it yesterday, so it is fresh in my mind.
(parts 1 & 2 are on HBO on demand right now for those curious).
I do not work for HBO.
