Post subject:  HALLOWEEN POLL

With HALLOWEEN II (1980) and HALLOWEEN III coming to Blu-Ray this October I thought it would be fun to run this poll....

Yes I know Rob Zombie's Halloween movies are not "Sequels" but I decided to include them anyway.

I voted for the original HALLOWEEN II, I know this movie has it's critics but i felt it was a true extention of the original movie and captured that "HALLOWEEN" Feel better than any of the other sequels.

Sorry to go off in a somewhat crude direction, but I must also cast my vote for the first sequel. This is mostly due to the fact that Pamela Susan Shoop was an early entry into my...how do I put this delicately... "spank bank."

I admit I didn't bother seeing a number of the larger number sequels. A few were enuff.
The one I picked - HALLOWEEN III - of course, has absolutely nothing to do with the core Halloween series storyline. I thought it was an interesting SF-ish take on the holiday.
The original writer, Nigel Kneale, was the great writer behind the Quatermass series. Kneale took his name off the film, but, his basic ideas are what elevate the film above the other sequels. Kneale also wrote the Marathon classic FIRST MEN IN THE MOON.

I love HALLOWEEN III but I have to admit I don't know much about the behind the scenes, I honestly though Carpenter wrote it.

Part 4. It's just the original retold but bigger, and so comfortingly '80s.

Anyone who can get to L.A. can see a cool Triple Bill of the first 3 HALLOWEEN films on August 23.

If you're around town, come see 'em on the big screen - and see that I'm correct and HALLOWEEN III is the best of the sequels!

Post subject:  I was torn....

I was torn between Halloween II (original) or Halloween 4. So, when in doubt, choose the oldest......
