Researching this rminded me of something I wanted to bring up.

While I enjoy the current "booklet" program format, which gives the event a little more weight and substance, I gotta say I kinda miss the old one-sheet with all the film titles spinning clockwise around the page. Something about it is cool and appealing, but maybe I'm just being a little nostalgic.

Unless in unreasonably raises the printing budget, perhaps some sort of combination of the two would be fun?

I used to love the way the titles were like the face of a clock and we followed them around.

The Booklet last longer than a simple one sheet. Would it be amusing to see what will happen if someone decides to screem all night? Will that be enjoyable or annoying to the point that person will be drag out of the theater and have a "talking to". Or someone decides to repeat the soda can incident of marathon lore to end the screaming. I hope not.

You could still have a one sheet by printing out a a hard copy of the PDF file.

Agreed. I understand the booklet allows for more advertising but for aesthetic reasons, I prefer the one sheet.

Great flier by the way. I really wish Chicago did something this cool, but they decided long ago to go with the boring postcard. Nothing really collectable about that.

Over the years, I've gone back and forth on the booklet vs. single-fold program debate. When Bruce started making the Sci-Fi Marathon programs in booklet form, I held a mighty soft spot for the older, simpler model. But as time has passed, I've bounced to the other side. Now, I really enjoy the greater opportunity the booklet form affords us to showcase more expansive artwork for each film. And from a practical standpoint, having a booklet to hand to prospective newbies, guests, or interested parties lends a real sense of professionalism to the event. In many folks minds, booklet=film festival=legitimacy. Not that we chase TOO much legitimacy, mind you...

Hey, for a veteran Nightmarathoid who's flying in from Seattle? Of course! Look me up when you get to the event.
