The official trailer for Fede Alvarez's remake of Sam Raimi's cult horror film will be released tomorrow, Wednesday, October 24th, but a teaser for it was surfaced today. Based on a screenplay by Sam Raimi, Evil Dead, starring Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez and Jessica Lucas is set to open in theaters across the U.S. on April 13, 2013. The trailer actually looks pretty awesome. But then again there have been many awesome trailers for bad movies, so only time will tell. As a rule, I'm open minded and not opposed to remakes on general principle. A good movie is a good movie, and a bad remake doesn't change anything about the original. |

The fact that Raimi and Bruce are both heavily involved, plus their statements that this will be a really really heavy R rating, if not NC-17 (and the trailer certainly seems pretty darn hardcore), bodes well for this. |
