Sarcasm alert! Actually, Lords of Salem isn't even playing in my area (I'm not in Columbus), so I can't see it anyway. According to Box Office Mojo it's only playing on 300 screens nationwide. I have no choice but to not see it.

Caught a late afternoon screening. Parts of it are really interesting. Parts of it are really frustrating. But then again, most of Rob Zombie's films could be described this way. That being said, it's probably his best film yet.

Might have to see this again before I can write up anything more.

NO WAY, Devils Rejects was WAYYY Better than TLOS!!

To me TLOS was like Rosemary's Baby on Acid, But there was to many "Dream" Sequences and flashbacks which made it feel very disjointed and like you said frustrating.

Spoiler: show
Her slow spiral into madness was cool but what was the end game? Ok so now Satan the tree branch squid baby is born.. now what? I think RZ would have been better off sticking to the "Witches Curse" story line and forgetting about the Satan part. On a side note Sherrie's "Moon" looked as pretty as ever!!

Based on the reviews I've read, it seems like the film is his tribute to Ken Russell, with a little Lynch and Polanski thrown in there for good measure. Which is probably not what his fans are expecting... Rob Zombie goes artsy. Having not been able to see it for myself yet, I can neither confirm nor deny what the critics are saying. But it certainly sounds different from his usual fare.

Am I the only one who saw Cronenberg influence in this film? I watched it last night (it's not playing ANYWHERE near me, but thank you Amazon UK!) I really liked the film. I'd say it's probably one of his better films - I enjoyed House and thought the Devil's Rejects was a better film, but The Lords is just a different film. Everything from the music (I though John 5 did a good job, I was expecting more rock, but was glad that it wasn't). I'd say this movie was more about tone than narrative. That's fine with me too.

I think that Rob Zombie does much better when it's his own story. I think this movie has repeat viewing potential.

Just saw it at the theater tonight. Very strange, and was tempted to laugh at a couple of the scenes that just struck me as too Rob Zombie-ish.

I was a little let down by the ending, but this struck me as a great marathon film. Good atmosphere throughout, and it features a tense build-up to an exciting finale. Even if it didn't play out quite as well as it could've.
