Huh, I guess the whole "indirectly but carry the same name" threw you off, oh well.
It is quite obviously a prequel, which people would know if they had actually watched the movie. I'm not defending the movie's entertainment value or saying it is the best movie ever made, but just calling it what it is. If it is a remake, why does the dog run away at the end, which lines up so perfectly well with the beginning of its sequel, 1982's The Thing? Not to mention all of the other events in the movie which explain things in 1982's The Thing, like how Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning explained things that happened in the remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I think maybe why so many people don't acknowledge this as a prequel is because they hate that this movie has anything to do with one of the greatest movies ever made. If someone is going to misjudge a movie by calling it something it's not, at least actually watch it to know for sure. Trust me, I have seen the movie. It's a prequel, and all the hatred for it in the world isn't gonna change that.
I didn't mean to drag this forum off subject, so let me draaaaag it back into place by suggesting a movie that is LONG overdue to be shown at the horror thon, a classic B movie that is pure cheesy low budget horror gold! The one, the only.... NIGHT OF THE DEMONS!
