Thanks for the responses, Joe. I agree with you on À l'intérieur - disappointing overall, but it would still be fun with a marathon crowd at 4am.

I'm not sure what most people think of it, but another Argento movie I'd like to see play is Phenomena / Creepers.

Not that it matters, but now i keep trying to think of other titles I'd want to see at a marathon. Seeing as most of these will never actually show up at a marathon for one reason or another, I guess doing this is as close as i'll ever get to playing fantasy football.
...so Stagefright. I like Stagefright. With the owl mask.

*PHANTASM! Yes! Long overdue for a screening. One of the best films of its kind.

So surprised that Joe doesn't like Inside much. I think it's one of the best most intense horror movies of the past 20 years. It's like the bastard love child of Dario Argento and Takeshi Miike. It's got a couple leaps of logic, but no more than many of the movies that all horror fans love. To each their own.

And Phantasm is an absolute classic with 35mm prints available. It played twice on 35mm in Chicago last year. The print was slightly faded and pink but not bad at all. In fact it was just faded the right amount for a 4am screening.

Has there been any confirmation yet to the teases that seem to point toward the Drexel being used instead of the Gateway? Because the availability of 35 mm prints might not be an issue, given that the Drexel has switched to all-digital.

I hope not. Grandview can handle 35mm and digital. Why go back to a theater that doesn't care. This year's science fiction marathon was a disgrace. In my opinion that the horror marathon will suffer. if its at the poorly run CAPA controlled Drexel.

It appears that Rialto Pictures have pick up the director's cut of The Wicker Man for US release for this fall. How about trying to get it.

Good news is the CABAL CUT will be in Los Angeles in October at a screening - maybe, you could negotiate a two-fer:

Let's see...some notes on some of these:

*Last we heard, screening NIGHTBREED: THE CABAL CUT involved a somewhat complicated process. The film was only available on Blu-Ray, with the cut scenes inserted...but only in workprint form. The restorationist had to be present at the screening (which entailed flying him in from England) during which he had to be posted in the booth so as to ensure no bootlegging. Now, that might be changing if the altered cut ever makes it to home video, but for now...

That's fantastic news! WICKER MAN is a title we've been looking at for years, but print availability was always a problem. We'll definitely look into this.

Not sure about non-Columbus marathons, but you can check this page for past Columbus ones: http://www.vitruvianzeke.com/Marathonia/Marathonia.html

Remember Slither was booked a few times. Then gets cancelled due to time or the print didn't shipped.

I do hope Slither will make it.

Bride Of Frankenstein played either last year or 2011.
