Woot! I'll be buying a mug, and a t-shirt, and a hoodie! If they're available. And, if they're not $50 each. I guess $49 is ok. :)

As for nonprofits running movie theatres, I don't see what the problem is - but, I also don't want to get into a political debate here, so perhaps that a discussion best left alone?

The Drexel is a historic building. If letting it go to a non-profit keeps it from being destroyed, I'm happy to see that happen. Plus there are plenty of arts organizations in this (and other) cities that are specifically non-profits.

So, yeah, I'm not going to buy that argument at all.

"This year's Horror Marathon is brought to you by Time Warner Cable."

Back on the subject, very entertaining podcast as usual. Any word on a potential premiere (or hints in that direction)?

Heh - when he brought up Bay/DePalma, you should have asked for HIS opinion. :)

Anyway, thanks for the EL shout-out!

Considering that we're just 12 days out, we may be getting a finalized film lineup in the next few days.

We're still chasing after the final film. As we've discussed here before, it's been tougher and tougher (for various reasons) to book good premieres in the last few years. We have our feelers out for a few legit premieres, but if they don't materialize we also have our eyes on a few films from the past year that most of you aren't likely to have seen (or seen in a theater.) Think KILL LIST, LAST CIRCUS, HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, etc. from the past several Marathons.

Ultimately, we'd prefer showing something good (or interesting) over something cruddy just to say we have a premiere. But keep your ears to the ground; hopefully we'll have more news soon.

Thanks Joe! I was just wondering, as the subject hadn't come up in a while.

If it's DePalma's Passion, I'm gonna call out, "who booked this Michael Bay piece of poop?!" :)

For premieres,I vote for Monsterkids,I Heart Monster Movies,Masters of the Grind or The Ackermonster Chronicles. I think any of them would play well to a horror audience.

Maybe a 10th anniversary screening of The Room? Tommy Wiseau's naked ass is more horrifying than anything we're going to see in the other films.

Oh, come on! What's with that logic!? Every Marathon should have a home movie that has been sitting on the shelf for 2 or 3 years get shown! And, hey, how about them 'It's Played in 123 cities but not Columbus' "premieres"! That's the true Marathon spirit!

Maybe we can get a "Pancakes! Waffles!" type dueling call-backs thing going... "DePalma!"... "Michael Bay!" ... "DePalma!"... "Michael Bay!" :)

Maybe we can show scenes from Scarface and Transformers 2 back to back, just as a compare-and-contrast kind of thing... have we beaten this thing to death yet? :)

No...I propose a Bad Boys and Bad Boys 2 double feature replacing the Wolfman and The Exorcist...Make this damn thing an all night Michael Bay-a-thon.
