So do you all derive wild enjoyment from hearing me evangelize about the Marathons? Or doing bad impressions of Jimmy Stewart and Klaus Kinski, while also calling our both Stephen King AND the entire Twittersphere?

Well hey, Jack, you're in luck. Head Fat Guy at the Movies Kevin Carr and I have teamed up to produce a regular series of podcasts about all things Marathon, all leading up to this fall's 666th Annual SHOCK AROUND THE CLOCK (October 18-19 at the Drexel.) The first episode of this epic new audio adventure can be found here. More to come in the months ahead!

Six months of listening to you guys talk enthusiastically about the marathons?
Count me in.

In this episode, you seemed to worry about going too far off on tangents. My advice is don't worry about that. Part of the fun of listening to podcasts is the uninhibited format and feeling like you are listening to a free-flowing conversation. I enjoyed it all.

Speaking of digressions, kudos to you for recommending the vastly superior Hannibal over The Following.

Thanks, guys. Glad you liked it.

I promise in the next episode to let Joe go off on as many anti-Twitter rants as he'd like. :-)

Good stuff, keep it up.

For the record, I booed loudly at the Quiet Earth impression, and I'm happy to boo at lots of folks up there. But I sat way in the back row, so perhaps I should boo even louder next time.

Although I agree Hannibal is better than the Following I still enjoy watching The Following but than again I have always been a Kevin Bacon fan.......Animal House, Friday the 13th, Tremors, Hollow Man

Just for the record, I'm a huge Kevin Bacon fan. In fact, it's why I was drawn to THE FOLLOWING in the first place. But after the dynamic first few episodes, it just became frustrating to see the material steadily devolve. Bacon's presence (and watching James Purefoy chew scenery) was about the only thing that kept me with this whole shebang through the end of Season 1. Granted, I've only seen the first episode of Season 2, but.....

For anyone interested, Werner Herzog discusses his Nosferatu (as well as other topics) a little bit here:

So can we rest assured that Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead will be the surprise film at the Marathon this year?

As much as I loved Twin Peaks, I think that would be really tough for the marathon crowd.

Thanks for bashing Man Of Steel, though I think you're wrong about Pacific Rim being better than Godzilla. Though obviously both could have been better. I'll certainly watch Batman V Superman:The Search For S, it may not be great, but if nothing else adding Affleck should be an improvement over just Cavill.

Thanks for not talking too much about the movies you're showing. I'm a big hater of spoilers. You're Next was indeed a fantastic movie, I think that'd be a good movie for 10pm or midnight, a good way to psych people up for the second half of the marathon. (Though there's also a good argument for playing it even earlier.)

PLEASE PLAY TWILIGHT AT NOON THIS YEAR!

Make.
It.
Happen.

You'd be praised and revered for making one of boldest booking decisions ever.

I think Joe should book Zack Snyder's DAWN OF THE DEAD and MAN OF STEEL as a double-bill this year. MAN OF STEEL would count as horror because we would hear Joe's screams of terror through it's entire running time.

(I've been angling to have them schedule TWILIGHT for years... the marathon crowd would rip it to shreds!)
