Updates? Yeah, I've heard THAT one before....

Updates? Sure, we have 'em.....to a degree. Anyway, here we go:

-We're hoping to have an almost finalized list of films (including the six that we announced at the Sci-Fi Marathon) in the next few weeks. There are a few films, in particular, that we're pursuing that could swing the direction of the lineup in several different ways, so we don't want to say any more until we have final word on them. But trust us, we're pretty excited about what's brewing, including a super rare 35mm screening of a film thought lost for decades (probably your only chance to ever see this on film), several major works by master directors that have never shown at a Marathon and more surprises.

-We're also hoping to have tickets on sale in a few weeks, possibly before we announce the finalized (or near finalized) list of films. One potential change (albeit somewhat minor) in the ticket situation could be the price. There's a decent possibility that we'll have a base ticket price of $40 in advance, $45 at the door. For years, we've been holding ticket prices under the $40 threshold, but film rentals and other theater related costs aren't getting any cheaper. And one of our paramount concerns is to ensure that the theater makes a decent showing off of the event (since we're taking away some of their prime Saturday shows, which can be some of the most profitable of the week.) We started last year's Horrorthon tix at $37, with a bump to $40 at the door, so this proposed price change shouldn't break too many banks. But let us know if this is a major concern.

More news to come, but in the meantime keep the faith and stay scared!

I think $40 is more than fair for the amount of awesomeness that is the marathon!

For the time spent and the pure awesomeness of the event, $40 is perfectly reasonable.

I can only assume that one of the surprise films is going to be Piranha 2: The Quickening.

$40 is a fair price.

Any updates on the remaining films being announced?

Since
"Ticket sales - in the next few weeks" ended up meaning one week,
could "We're hoping to have an almost finalized list of films (including the six that we announced at the Sci-Fi Marathon) in the next few weeks." mean perhaps two weeks?
Any info?
