There are two 24-hour marathons in Chicago this year, and have been for the last two years. There used to just be one, The Music Box Massacre, but the people who organized the show took the Massacre to a different theater in 2012 and the Music Box Theatre decided to do their own marathon as well. It's been an embarrassment of riches ever since!

Exhumed Films out of Philadelphia does a 24-hour marathon at the International House. It's sold out within hours the last couple of years, but people usually have tickets up for sale on their Facebook page (and eventually event page when they get it set up). One major difference between the Exhumed Films Horrorthon and other 24-hour marathons is that they don't announce the lineup in advance at all. You find out what the lineup is as each film starts! They've always been killer, and they always screen film prints (except one year they premiered "The Dead," which was the only digital projection at any of their horrorthons to date). This year's horrorthon is October 25-26th. Check their Facebook page for more info:
