Hey now! MARTYRS wasn't a premiere, just a recent film. Back to the drawing board with ya!

My least favorite premieres at a horror marathon...

1) IRREVERSIBLE at the Shock Around the Clock #1 - Yeah, yeah, I know this was Stuart Gordon's idea, and far be it from me to diss such a great guest, but man I hated this movie. And it wasn't even the infamous nine-minute rape scene. The film had lost me long before then, and after that it just got worse. From the overuse of nauseating cinematography to the vapid improvised dialogue to the cliched and predictable "twist." Ugh.

2) GOZU at the 2nd Incredible 2-Headed Marathon - I've never been a Miike fan, and this helped me form this opinion. Sure, it had some of the most memorable on screen moments of extreme senior citizen lactation and full-grown live human birth. But it was just too out there for me. And when it wasn't bonkers, it was just boring for me.

3) TETSUO at the 5th Night of the Living Drexel - Maybe it's just me and bizarre Japanese films, but this one was also on my list. Never was a big fan of cyberpunk, and this film was so loud and obnoxious. At one point during the film, I yelled, "What the hell is happening in this movie???" It got a couple laughs. Yeah, it's cool to have a premiere, but this one just did not work for me at all.

Apologies to anyone who liked or loved these movies. But they have taught me over the years to take the bad with the good when it comes to both premieres and marathons in general. :-D

SHOCK AROUND THE CLOCK 2013 is my only horror thon to date, and while I had an incredible time, there weren't any premieres. So I'm excited for the experience of seeing some new stuff with a horror crowd, and I hope that in a week's time, I'll be able to answer this question with HOUSEBOUND, THE STRANGE COLOR OF YOUR BODY'S TEARS, and RED LUCK.

Robogeisha. Loud, long and generally irritating.

Was the Last Circus a premier? I thought it was, but it isn't marked as such. If so, it goes on my list too for similar reasons.

I think THE LAST CIRCUS had played at the Gateway earlier in the year, so it technically wasn't a premiere. Not 100% sure of this, though.

How about 3 Extremes?

I trust the official record keeping. Just wanted to lodge a complaint against The Last Circus. :)

Robogeisha was definitely my least favorite premier.

I thoroughly enjoyed THIRST last year.

1. For its absurd subtitling. Using words like "cuz". I was rolling.

B. It had an interesting plot and cultural spin on vampires.

>. The general discomfort permeating the audience during the kinky toe/thumb sucking sex scene.

Very strange.
