Rest In Peace Betsy Palmer

This is the part where Ghost pleads with Joe again that there is no excuse for not showing Friday the 13th at the marathon this year...

...discuss...

Are there reasons why a Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street haven't been shown (at least since I've been attending which is probably about 10-12 years now, apologies if movies from those series had been shown before that)?
Availability issues? Organizer's preference issues?

Just curious. Not a rabid fan of either personally, but as someone in my mid-30s, both series were some of the first horror movies I remember being exposed to (thanks babysitters!) so I do have a nostalgic soft spot.

I know "back in the day" the owner of The Drexel was against Friday the 13th showing, probably because it was to commercial or he was afraid people would start asking to see the sequels. However he is no longer the owner so basically it's up to Bruce and Joe and I know neither are against show a Friday the 13th movie, it's basically try it to squeeze it into the theme of the event.

I wouldn't mind seeing a FT13th or NOES...I think some of the later, more obscure sequels would play well to lighten things up after something pretty heavy.

I also agree! And I think a certain member of these forums would like to see Jason X. I say, let's do it. Let's just show it. It's been talked about so much that watching it could be more enjoyable than you might think. Jason X is not a BAD movie, it's just ....to put it kindly, nothing at all like the other Jason movies. Other than having Jason. I will say that Jason X has the most attractive lead actress out of ANY of the Friday The 13th movies, Lexa Doig! (WOLF WHISTLE!) it would be great if there were a calendar that showed all 12 leading ladies in the Friday the 13th movies.
