Juuuuust in case you missed the news at SF32, we have two titles CONFIRMED for this fall's 7th Annual SHOCK AROUND THE CLOCK!

First up is the acclaimed USC compilation SHOCK VALUE: THE MOVIE! Taking their cue from Jason Zinoman's excellent book on the '70s horror boom, the university's archivists have assembled a collection of student horror shorts from that decade, including early works by John Carpenter and Dan O'Bannon! All in restored 2K DCP!

Also confirmed is a title we've been chasing for a LONG time: Michael Mann's Nazi zombie opus THE KEEP! In a super-rare 35mm presentation! If you've never seen THE KEEP, the less said beforehand, the better. With Scott Glenn, Ian McKellan, Jurgen Prochnow, and music by Tangerine Dream!

More titles and news are on their way!!!

Very cool! I remember seeing the VHS box of "The Keep" at the good old video stores when I was younger. I thought at the time that it looked stupid & didn't appeal to me. I cannot wait to see it in October! The trailer looks really cool & who doesn't love "Tangerine Dream"? I love the movie "Legend" & the soundtrack/score is so atmospheric, it almost brings it to life in my living room, especially with the DTS 5.1 Master Lossless Audio on the Blu Ray.

This will be my 4th Shock Around the Clock marathon. My wife still thinks I am nuts for driving 3 hrs down each year for a horror movie marathon. I tell her she just doesn't understand. 8)

Thanks! I have felt very welcome every time I have come. It is like a family reunion for horror fans!

It actually IS like a family reunion, complete with disagreements, violence, loud noises, and plenty of food! ;) This will be my 7th Shock Around The Clock, and my 11th horror marathon overall. If there were an official tagline for Shock Around The Clock, it would probably be:
"WE HAVE SUCH SIGHTS TO SHOW YOU...."

THE KEEP mentioned as one of the top 25 movies not available on DVD by Empire. Not sure why there's a demand for this turkey, but, hey, maybe they can unearth Michael Mann's cut.

Speaking of Tangerine Dream, could we consider Legend a horror film? It's one of my all time favorite movies. I'd love to see it on the big screen.

I don't think of Legend as a horror film at all. I think of it as Fantasy. although the main villain, Darkness, is certainly horrifying, the movie just doesn't have elements of Horror.

...and, when I think of LEGEND, I think of the wonderful Jerry Goldsmith score that was tossed out by the short-sighted American studio in favor of the incongruous Tangerine Dream composition for release stateside.

The movie has an awesome score, but I'm just curious: Why did you consider this for the Horror Marathon?

Man...it's this stretch of the year that sometimes makes me wish the Horror and Sci-Fi 'thons were a little more evenly spaced. The dearth of news and long wait for Shock Around the Clock is killing me!

But I know, Bruce and Joe are getting on in years, and they do need their rest.
