Okay fellow Nightmarathoids, so today obviously marks the passing if one of the major icons in Horror (and film/cultural) history. The legendary Christopher Lee was the face of Dracula for many a fan, and he always brought a sense of power and elegance to any role that he played.

We've been trying to bring a Hammer film back to the lineup for quite some time. Pending availability and format, which Lee title or titles would you like to see in October? A classic Hammer Dracula? The underrated HORROR EXPRESS? Something else?

DRACULA HAS RISEN FROM THE GRAVE was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid and one of the reasons I love horror movies to this day. I have not seen it in many many moons and I am curious if it is as good as I remember. If I am looking at the archives correctly, that one is actually the most recently screened Hammer Dracula film as far as marathons go, and the original HORROR OF DRACULA has only been shown once, way back at the inaugural Night of the Living Drexel.

For no apparent reason, I actually have not seen any other Lee Dracula films, so any would be welcome. (I was in attendance in 1994 at the Drexel North when SCARS OF DRACULA was shown in the wee hours of the morning, but I don't remember watching it at all, I am fairly certain I was asleep for its entirety).

I'd love to see Horror Express at a marathon. Of course a Hammer film would be cool too, particularly one of his team-ups with Peter Cushing. Either way a tribute is definitely in order.

Obviously any Hammer Film would be great but why just honor 1 legend when you can honor 4 at the same time???

This movie has never shown at a marathon and probably hasn't screened in Ohio since it's theatrical release in 1983

The answer is clearly Howling 2 ... Your Sister is a Werewolf.

I second that motion. Any other of the jury want to agree?

I say we just loop the credits scene for two hours. I'd be up for that. :)

Personally, I would love to see a more obscure Christopher Lee movie. It's so easy to book THE HORROR OF DRACULA or any of the big name Hammer films. And over the past week (and through the next couple weeks), we'll all be watching some Christopher Lee films on our own to honor the man. (I know that TCM is doing a whole Christopher Lee tribute on Monday the 22nd.)

So yeah, I think something totally off-kilter like HOWLING 2 would be awesome. I could totally get behind some obscure tribute to Lee. (Just one request... keep a trailer block of Lee's work in the schedule rather than running them as people come into the theater like the Nimoy trailers at sci-fi. I'd like to see a lot of his trailers in a block with the lights down.)

There's an obscure 1973 Lee-Cushing movie called Nothing But the Night that might be a good watch. I've never seen it, and I'm guessing the majority of the audience hasn't either. Assuming one could get a print, of course...

I just watched NOTHING BUT THE NIGHT this weekend. It's a slow starter and can be a little police procedural rote in the middle. But it has a really fantastic payoff. And Lee is pretty significant in it, too. (Also stars Cushing... bonus!)

I think I seen that movie. It sounds familiar. A pretty decent film that I liked.
