Gene Wilder, ‘Willie Wonka’ Star and Comedic Icon, Dies at 83

Gene Wilder, who regularly stole the show in such comedic gems as “The Producers,” “Blazing Saddles,” “Young Frankenstein,” “Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” and “Stir Crazy,” died Monday at his home in Stamford, Conn. His nephew Jordan Walker-Pearlman said he died of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. He was 83.

I say we drop THE HUNGER and replace it with Young Frankenstein!!

You wouldn't get an argument from me. There are few individuals who shaped my sense of humor more than that man.

Besides, I've been suggesting YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN for years. :)

I don't know that THE HUNGER is the one I would most want to see dropped, since I think remembering Bowie is also important. (And I love that film.) But I'd be fine to see something shift to get YOUNG FRANKENSTIEN in there.

By the way, in case anyone hasn't heard, Fathom Events will be showing YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN (for sure at the Crosswoods and the Lennox) on October 5th at 8:00 PM.

Not the same without our uniquely wonderful marathon crowd, but worth catching in either case.
