Yep, just in case you missed it on the speedy flow of the social media feeds, we're pleased to announce that Michael Gornick, the legendary Director of Photography for DAWN OF THE DEAD, DAY OF THE DEAD, CREEPSHOW, MARTIN, and KNIGHTRIDERS, as well as the Director of CREEPSHOW 2, will be our Guest of Honor at the 11th Annual SHOCK AROUND THE CLOCK 24-Hour Horror Marathon (Oct. 12th-13th at the Drexel Theatre)! Michael is best known for crafting some of the most indelible cinematic images in horror film history during his time working with George Romero, but he's also:
-Worked on post-production editing and sound design duties for several of the canonical Romero classics
-Served as an Associate Producer on Mick Garris's TV mini-series version of Stephen King's THE STAND
-Directed several episodes of the cult favorite TV series TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE
-Helped in overseeing the recent 4K restoration of CREEPSHOW and the upcoming 4K restorations of DAWN OF THE DEAD and MARTIN
As you can tell, he's had quite the career, and has a ton of fascinating behind the scenes stories about his time in the film world. He'll be on hand October 12th to introduce several of his films, conduct a Q+A with the audience, and hold a meet and greet in the lobby afterward (no charge for autographs and personal photos). I first met Michael at last year's Living Dead Weekend in the Monroeville Mall, and I'm fairly certain that you'll enjoy meeting him as well.
