Actor Heath Ledger Found Dead in NYC
By AP

(NEW YORK) — Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan residence in a possible drug-related death, police said. He was 28.

NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let Ledger know the masseuse was there found him dead at 3:26 p.m.

The Australian-born actor was an Oscar nominee for his role in Brokeback Mountain and has numerous other screen credits.

Wow I'm shocked. It's going to be creepy watching THE DARK KNIGHT now, especially if they kill him off like Burton did.

That is a stunner. I had heard he gave an interview where he said playing the Joker was causing him to have trouble sleeping at night.

This is very sad, he was very young and a rather smart actor (kinda hard to find in Hollywood). After “10 things I hate about you” he swore off teen flicks. With the exception of “first knight” he only wanted roles that shied away from the big budget blockbuster flicks and wanted roles that made him stretch as an actor, to do the kind of roles he hasn’t done before. “Brokeback Mountain” established him as a serious actor and I believe “The Dark Knight” would have propelled him into big budget stardom. R.I.P. Heath.

My wife pulled me into watching 10 things I hate about you and it wasn't that bad of a movie and I thought he and Stiles had a nice chemistry. I also liked the short lived Roar.

When Jack Nicholson was asked for his thoughts on Heath Ledger’s death, his only response was “I warned him.” WEIRD!!!
