Ben Chapman, the actor who played the creature in The Creature from the Black Lagoon, died yesterday in Hawaii. He will be missed. |

That and King Kong are two of the first monster movies I remember. I recall our elemntary school library had some books on each of the Unioversal monsters. (I didn't know it at the time, I just knew it was about the different monsters.) |

I got to meet Ben several times over the years at conventions like FrightVision,Chiller,etc. Nice enough guy but he charged like $25 per autograph which puts alot of people off. Even Bert I Gordon who does shows now is charging $30. Got to stop this nonsense. |
