My wife told me that the Drexel is closing end of Sept. If that is true and the Drexel is currently our hub, what are we going to do??

Not that Mr. Neff has given us any hints as to the future of the marathon.
(Come on dude I've been with ya since 2000!)
Might we all need to rethink our patronage of the Shriek o Rama (which I am all for) the one in Yellow Springs or gasp...even the Studio 35 shitty versions they have tried since our dear leader left them?

"Game over man! Game over. What the f*^$ are we going to do?"

Trying not to be down about this, because I have utmost confidence in Joe and Bruce and surely this is not the end, however; it does spring up a few questions.

1. Will the show still go on just at a different venue?

2. Will the marathon go on a one year hiatus?

3. If there is a hiatus, what are the local alternatives? I know about the Studio 35 "'thon" but what else is there? This has been such a staple for me and a few friends for the past 5 years. In fact, I have several friends from Lexington, KY coming up.

Man, miss a day...

I was just wondering how I was going to make it this year if it was 24 hours (something work related is raising its ugly head) and then I get this news which is potentially worse. The East did work well for the Sci Fi, I thought. Though I like the exclusivity of one screen.

As of press time, we're tentatively scheduled to resurrect The Incredible 2-Headed Marathon at the Drexel East, from 10pm-Noon on Saturday October 18th. We've been holding off on an official announcement in hopes that we'll have most of the titles booked by the time we do so. Stay tuned for more...

...and the future of the Marathon? Ha! What a loaded question.

Though I've only been there for marathons and Bubba Ho-Tep, Grandview closing is extremely sucktacular.

I'll follow the marathon wherever it goes, I now look forward to my introduction to the Drexel East.

Wow, maybe that's where the rumor about the marathon ending came from when I spoke to the ticket seller at Georgesville.

Considering that's where it was this year, why not?

Or was that a one time deal?

Well, the Sci-Fi was at the East this year. The Horror marathon hasn't ever been there.

Yet.

I liked the East this year. And we get to introduce a new community to the evening hoor marathon line. Folks at Grandview were getting used to it. :)

This is good news. I'm glad that it will be at the East. Since my downtown apartment is closer to Bexley. I'll do miss the single screen but there will be better concessions plus hopefully no delays since the thon will be on screen one and hopefully schedule the last movie 7:30 -7:45PM.

Now I can take a decent nap before the thon.
