So after much delaying, here's the film list for THE 5th ANNUAL INCREDIBLE 2-HEADED MARATHON. As noted, a few of these are unconfirmed at press time, but as soon as we receive word there will be some clarification.

Image

MIDWEST PREMIERE (UNCONFIRMED)

Teenage angst and rabid bloodlust com to a head in this Swedish vampire chiller. Festival audiences worldwide have been raving about this one: Ain't It Cool News's Quint gushes "LET THE RIGHT ONE IN is a damn near perfect genre film and I'll even go one better in saying it’s a damn near perfect film period."

Image

Mega-influential and quietly haunting, Kill Baby, Kill is vintage Mario Bava, a stylistic tour de force set in a possibly haunted 18th century European village. This is a rare opportunity to see it in 35mm on the BIG SCREEN.

Image

Finally, fourteen years after it was supposed to premiere at the final NIGHT OF THE LIVING DREXEL, Peter Jackson's demented sicko-fest makes its Columbus Marathon bow. Akin to The Muppets on acid, Meet The Feebles is relentlessly twisted, stomach churning, and darkly hilarious. Defnitely not for the easily offended.

Image

Speaking of offensive films that were supposed to play previous Marathons...yes, after last year's shipping snafu, we knew that the Marathon faithful couldn't be denied their chance to see this all-time gross-out classic in a theater. So here it is, for the first time at a Columbus horrorthon.

Image

No remakes here, Jack. This is the real thing, John Carpenter's underrated and atmospheric classic. Scream Queen Jamie Lee Curtis joins mom Janet Leigh, Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, and John Houseman in a terrific cast that's set for slaughter by a vengeful, shipwrecked crew from beyond.

Image

...and while we're on the topic of unnecessarily remade films, here's Wes Craven's cannibal classic. Dee Wallace is the mom who just wants a nice vacation for her Cleveland-based family. Too bad she forgot to tell James Whitworth and his demented, desert-dwelling family.

Nice work guys! Should be a good one.. I would have guessed Meet The Feebles, but I just didn't think it would play at the horror-thon (not complaining though!..I love it)

Okay...now please explain the Something Wild connection.

Ohio celebrity = Hal Holbrook? I was seriously thinking of him..but for some reason didn't think of The Fog...just Creepshow.

Man the list looks righteous, I'm hoping for at least one more to laugh at the sheer cheese level of.

Jeez. I figured Cannibal Ferox and Feebles would be in the line-up, but I thought at least one of my other guesses might've been right. Well, I'm still proud of them, even though I failed.

And the real line-up looks like a good one.

Let the Right One In - I've been hearing good things about this one, mainly from the guys at DreadCentral hyping it.

All the Boys Love Mandy Lane - I managed to see this one a few months back and enjoyed it. Something to look for: One scene was filmed at the TCM '74 gas station.

Kill Baby Kill! - Haven't seen this one, but with Bava and a 7.1/10 rating I'm interested.

Meet the Feebles - I've been wanting to see this for years but never got to it. Seeing it for the first time with a marathon crowd should be fun.

Cannibal Ferox - The one I'm not looking forward to. Italian cannibal movies aren't for me.

The Fog - Awesome.

The Hills Have Eyes - One of my favorites.

Looks like a very entertaining lineup.

After really enjoying Ils last year, I already have high expectations for Let The Right One In.

So sorry I can't make it. Well...most likely can't make it. 1) I haven't seen either of the premieres. 2)Kill Baby Kill is an awesome atmospheric Bava film. I saw this at the recent Bava festival at the Hollywood Egyptian Theater. The print was incredible! 3) Meet the Feebles I only saw on VHS video about 15 years ago, so I would love to see this. 4) Cannibal Ferox I could pass on....cannibal films aren't my bag...BUT if you are going to see this, the big screen is probably the way to see. 5) The Fog is by one of my favorite horror film directors! 6) The Hills is one of my favorite horror films!

Nice!

There are several all night horror festivals that will happen here in Los Angeles, so I will try to hit those and make due. I will let you all know the lineups as soon as they are announced.

I saw Cannibal Ferox on DVD last year. It's... pretty disgusting. Which is what it's supposed to be, right? Definitely an acquired taste (no pun intended), but it should be quite an experience on the big screen.

Excellent lineup. Looking forward to attending this year! :D

Great lineup. I too could do without Cannibal Ferox. I hate animal torture and if it's anything like Cannibal Holocaust, I don't need to see it. BUT: Hills Have Eyes is one of my favorites. The Fog is a lot of fun and perfect, bleary-eyed early morning marathon chum. Meet the Feebles would be awesome with a crowd. Haven't seen Kill Baby Kill, but if it's Bava it's worth seeing and could be fantastic. And the 2 premieres promise to be good. Even if premieres aren't that great, I always look back more fondly on them because of the marathon experience than if I'd just seen them on DVD at home.

I'd say Cannibal Ferox's animal torture isn't as hard to take as it is in Cannibal Holocaust....uh...but it's still there.

The film as a whole is a lot better for laughing at with its wonderful, over the top, 70s/80s Italian, sleazy, misogynistic, cheesy, "charm".

...plus the whole audience can have a drinking game based around how many times they hear the word "twat" uttered.

Well Eaten Alive IMO is worse than Cannibal Ferox's. Well Meet the Feebles is out on DVD. To rent go to Video Central on 261 E Livingston St they have two copies to rent.

I rent Make Them Die Slowly to remind myself of the movie. (To me Italian Cannibal Flicks are a blur to me since most if not all have similar plots. Group of westerns go to a jungle, get capture, graphic mutilations/get eating, wash repeat.)

I did put Kill Baby Kill in my Netflix Que so I can watch the movie at home so if I fall asleep I wont missed it.

Meet The Feebles seen it to many times and can't wait to see the "shock and awe" of the audience when it comes to the early posting of mine.

Besides of the two unconfirmed movies premiers and Kill Baby Kill I have seen these movies before.

Alright, so maybe I got my panties in a bunch, I apologies for that. It’s just that my favorite part of the pre-marathon (Horror and Sci-Fi) is seeing the lineup slowly announced. It builds my anticipation of the event and keeps me excited. That aside, the lineup looks fantastic! I should have never doubted you guys.

Let the Right one in – I’m always up for a vampire flick.

All the Boys Love Mandy Lane – Sounds like a slasher flick, I LOVE slasher flicks. My favorite movie of the past marathons have been the primers (Fido, ils, Big Man Japan, Evil Aliens), I have high hopes for this one.

Kill Baby Kill – Wouldn’t be a marathon without some vintage horror.

Meet the Feebles – Surprisingly, I’ve never heard of this flick … but after watching that sodomy clip I’m really looking forward to it.

Make them die slowly – If we could only get one of the two missing flicks from last year, I would have much rather had Zombie.

The Fog – YES!!!!!!!!!

The Hills have Eyes – I must admit, I like some of the remakes out there, and in very rare occasions I like them better than the original. But the Hills have Eyes should have never been remade. I can’t wait to see this original masterpiece.
